All-new Nissan Qashqai hits European markets summer 2021
Nissan Motor Company Ltd has introduced the all-new third generation Nissan Qashqai compact crossover SUV that is said to reach European markets this summer.
The Qashqai highlights comfort, efficiency and the latest intuitive technology. The Qashqai is the newest model under the Nissan NEXT transformation plan that gives priority to sustainable growth and profitability for the company.
Its exterior of the vehicle has been revised to give a more toned and futuristic feel to it. Some of the interesting features include the V-motion grille and the new sleek design of the roof. On top of that, the Qashqai comes with 20-inch alloy wheels for the extended wheelbase.

The LED headlamps are now much slimmer and come with unique technology that adapts the shape of the beam according to the road conditions. Not forgetting the 3-D effect feature for the rear lights. The all-new Nissan Qashqai comes in 16 colour variations; 11 body colours and five two-tone combinations.

As for the interior of the vehicle, it prioritises a comfortable and relaxing environment with new seat materials and white ambient lighting, as well as new smart features and fine detailing.
“Between the design, engineering and product planning functions, we have worked harder than ever to elevate the ambience for our customers so their drive is comfortable, refined, convenient and provides a feeling of well-being,” said Nissan Automotive Europe vice president of product planning Marco Fioravanti.
Under the hood, the all-new Qashqai is equipped with two available powertrains. The 12-volt mild hybrid system comes with a 1.3-litre turbo engine and a lithium-ion battery that allows energy to be regenerated during deceleration. This contributes to both the fuel economy as well as the reduction of CO2 emissions.
The all-new Nissan Qashqai will be Europe’s first implementation of Nissan’s signature e-POWER drive system. Sales are planned to begin after the sales of the mild hybrid version.
The e-POWER system of the Qashqai has been improved with the support of Nissan’s world-first variable compression ratio petrol engine as the dedicated electricity generating unit. This allows a high-output electrified system that produces better efficiency.
Used in the vehicle is the Alliance CMF-C platform which is also a first in European markets. For better strength and weight reduction, the Qashqai comes with a more lightweight material, improved stamping processes and welding techniques.
The rear hatchback door is now 2.6 kilograms lighter as it is made of composite material. Following that, in comparison to the previous model, more futuristic manufacturing techniques have made it possible to save almost 60 kilograms and allow a 41 percent increase in structural rigidity for the all-new Qashqai.
The revised CMF-C platform also provides an improved Macpherson strut set-up at the front and rear of the vehicle. Next to that, the rear suspension comes with a torsion beam that is set for two-wheel drive models along with a multi-link configuration for all-wheel drive models. In order to increase response and steering range, the power steering has also been revamped.

As for connected technology, the Qashqai comes with multiple connected services that include smartphones, in-car WiFi for up to seven devices as well as NissanConnect Services; an app to control and monitor the vehicle.

The car is equipped with a new fully digital high-definition 12.3-inch TFT multi-information screen with Japanese Kiriko cut glass motif as a digital background. It comes with various layouts for navigation, entertainment, traffic or vehicle information. The driver is also able to control the screen from the new tactile dial switch on the steering wheel.
It is followed by a new 10.8-inch Head-Up Display (HUD) that projects key navigation, driver assistance and road information onto the windscreen within the driver’s line of vision. Besides that, the 9-inch NissanConnect display screen is compatible with both Android and Apple Carplay, as well as Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
The all-new Qashqai comes with a generous number of safety features and tech such as the ProPILOT with Navi-link that aids the driver by reducing fatigue and stress while driving by assisting with acceleration and braking within a single lane on a highway.
