Volvo C40 Recharge, The Future Is Now!
In the industry today, many companies have been venturing towards the path of a zero emission future. Volvo Cars' recently introduced the C40 Recharge that follows that initiative as it is a pure electric model and is based on the CMA vehicle platform.

According to the company, many additional electric models will follow the XC40 and C40 Recharge in the following years. Not only that, Volvo targets for 50 per cent of its global sales volume to include pure electric cars while the rest will include hybrids by the year 2025 and aims for all of their car sales to be pure electric by 2030.

“The C40 Recharge represents the future of Volvo and shows where we are going,” said it's chief technology officer Henrik Green. “It is fully electric, offered online only with a convenient care package and will be available for quick delivery. Getting a new Volvo was never this attractive.”

Following a sleeker design, the front of the C40 Recharge comes with a lower roof line as well as headlights with pixel-technology.

Inside the vehicle, passengers are equipped with a high seating position, along with various colour and decor options. However, the model is entirely leather-free, a first for Volvo.
The C40 recharge comes with an infotainment system that was jointly manufactured with Google and is based on the Android operating system that is also inclusive of built-in Google apps and services such as Google Maps, Google Assistant and the Google Play Store.

On top of that, the model is supplied with unlimited data that allows for better connectivity, as well as will be able to receive software updates over the air.
The model is fitted with twin electric motors that are each placed at the front and rear axle. The 78kWh battery in the vehicle charges up to 80 per cent, within only around 40 minutes and provides a range of about 420 km. Although, the charging time also depends on elements such as outdoor temperature, current battery temperature, charging equipment, battery and car condition.

As mentioned by Volvo Cars, the C40 Recharge is currently only available online. However, upon purchasing the vehicle, customers will receive a care package that consists of service, warranty, roadside assistance, insurance and also home charging options.

The production of the C40 Recharge will commence this fall at the Volvo Cars manufacturing plant in Ghent, Belgium.
