The bZ4X, Leading The Charge For Toyota’s New Line-up Of BEVs
Toyota Motor Corporation has declared a new line-up of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and it’ll kick-off with their new Toyota bZ series that’ll feature a recently revealed concept of the Toyota bZ4X.

Going forward, by 2025 Toyota will offer 70 electrified models in total. 15 out of them will be of the BEV nature and out of that, seven of them will comprise the new Toyota bZ BEV models.
In its expansion of BEVs, the company has taken two diverse methods based on the idea of utilizing the advantages of BEVs with considerations of CO2 reductions from LCA.

On one hand, it pursues to realize a ‘mobility for all' approach that has a focus on small-capacity, short-distance, ultra-compact BEVs by creating new business models such as commercialization of battery reuse and recycling.
On the other hand, the new Toyota bZ series of BEVs takes on a ‘human-centred’ approach aimed at widespread use in regions such as China, the U.S., and Europe. In which there is significant demand for BEVs, and also a large supply of renewable electricity.
Now let’s take a gander at the new Toyota bZ series. The ‘bZ’ moniker stands for ‘beyond Zero’ and it incorporates the desire to provide customers with value that exceeds mere ‘zero emissions’.

The Toyota bZ series models will be built on new BEV dedicated platforms with features such as practical cruising range that considers the operating environment.
Second, it features an open and freestyle interior layout and a uniquely designed exterior which emphasizes on the BEV outlook.

As aforementioned, the Toyota bZ series is based on BEV dedicated platforms that can be used with multiple variations in terms of the size and design.
Regarding that, the Toyota bZ4X model that will be the first to roll off the assembly line is an SUV BEV that was jointly developed by Toyota and Subaru.

This new vehicle adopts the e-TNGA BEV dedicated platform that takes benefits from the strength of Toyota, which boasts expertise in vehicle electrification and Subaru, which possesses outstanding AWD technologies.
In combining the two company’s expertise, the Toyota bZ4X sports many characteristics such as a combination of a long wheelbase with a short overhang. This results both in a distinctive design and in an interior space comparable to a D-segment sedan.

A uniquely shaped steering wheel that eliminates the need to change grip when steering, which also contributes to a spacious interior. Moreover, the vehicle adopts a steer-by-wire system that provides a smooth driving feel aligned with the driver's intentions.

Also portrayed, is a low position of the instrument panel and the location of the instrument clusters above the steering wheel serve not only to enhance the vehicle's sense of space but also improve visibility and contribute to safe and secure driving.

Other than that, the bZ4X also adopts a new AWD system, which combines safe and pleasing driving performance that is made possible by the unique responsiveness of electrified vehicles with a touch of an impressive off-road performance.
With the use of regenerative energy systems, the vehicle also adopts a solar recharging function. Said function ingeniously recharges the battery while stationary, and further enhances the unique environmental performance of a BEV.
