An SUV To Suit Almost Every Lifestyle, Meet The Hyundai KONA Family!
The Hyundai KONA family is made up of the KONA, KONA Hybrid, KONA N Line, KONA Electric and the KONA N. The subcompact SUV was launched with two petrol engines but was then introduced to diesel, hybrid and battery-electric powertrains, as well as the sporty N Line trim.

Customers will not only be spoiled with a generous amount of space but will also be able to opt between front-wheel and all-wheel drive for their vehicles.
The KONA made its debut to European markets in 2017 and has become one of Hyundai’s most popular models. It was so popular that the European sales of the KONA line-up have passed 367,000 units. Not forgetting that more than 222,000 units were equipped with internal combustion engines!

Prior to this year’s title of Car of the Year given by British Auto Express Driver Power Survey, the KONA also won North American Utility Vehicles of the Year™ and the Best Car of the Year ABC in Spain in 2019. Before that, it even received the iF Design Award, Red Dot Award, and IDEA design award.

Highlights of the model’s new look include new headlights, a wider radiator grille, more prominent underrun protection, upgrades for its Hyundai SmartSense safety features, as well as connectivity and convenience features were expanded. Also included is even more Blue Link® Connected Car Services and a free five-year subscription to Hyundai’s LIVE Services.
Under the hood is a 1.6-litre T-GDI Smartstream petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) or a 1.0-litre T-GDI Smartstream petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 7-speed DCT. In addition to that, customers can choose to outfit the 1.0-litre T-GDI engine with 48-volt mild hybrid technology.
Moving on to the KONA Hybrid, its highlights include sleek design features, smart ADAS technologies, and intuitive connectivity features with an innovative hybrid powertrain.
Since its debut to the European market in 2019, it has sold almost 50,000 units!
Under the hood is a specially calibrated 1.6-litre GDI direct-injection petrol engine with a 43.5 PS electric motor that produces 139 hp and 265 Nm of torque.
On top of that, KONA Hybrid’s innovative regenerative braking system helps slow the car while charging the 1.56 kWh high-power lithium-ion polymer battery that the motor draws its energy from.
“Customers are demanding more SUVs and electrified solutions – Hyundai is responding with a combination of both. As one of our most popular models, KONA has played a key role in Hyundai’s success in Europe in recent years.
This is why it is important to us to continually enhance and improve this model – so we can continue delivering the best possible product to our customers,” said Vice President of Marketing & Product of Hyundai Motor Europe, Andreas-Christoph Hofmann.
Available with the N-inspired N Line trim, highlights of the KONA N Line include an exclusive N Line grille, 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, as well as sporty seats embossed with the N logo on the headrest that come in leather, cloth, or suede.

Under the hood is a 1.0-litre T-GDI or 1.6-litre T-GDI petrol engine in both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive variations.
Did you know that the model represents 15 percent of KONA’s with internal combustion engines sold? It is said that sales of the unit in Europe have almost reached 97,000! As for Germany, KONA Electric has become the most popular KONA in the line-up.
Equipped with two battery-electric powertrains, the long-range version with aa 64 kWh battery allows for a driving range of up to 484km on a single charge (WLTP), while the 39.2 kWh battery option delivers a driving range of up to 305 km on a single charge (WLTP).
Noteworthy achievements of the model include breaking the Guinness World Record for “Highest Altitude Achieved in an Electric Car” and also a five-star Green NCAP rating – based on clean air, energy efficiency, and greenhouse gas metrics.
“When we launched the KONA Electric in 2018 as the world’s first fully-electric subcompact SUV, it represented a major step forward for affordable e-mobility. With the new KONA Electric, we’re showing that Hyundai is fully committed to zero-emissions driving, by providing our customers with enhanced driving assistance and safety features, making it an even more desirable package,” he added.

Next to that, the KONA N is equipped with a turbocharged, four-cylinder 2.0-litre T-GDI engine that produces 276 hp and 392 Nm of torque. It has a maximum speed of 240 km/h and is able to make a century sprint in around 6.4 seconds.

Coming with an enhanced version of Hyundai’s eight-speed, wet-type dual-clutch, the N DCT allows for improved acceleration and faster shifting as well as three N-exclusive functions that use dedicated shift logic management to enhance the car’s performance: N Power Shift (NPS), N Grin Shift (NGS), and N Track Sense (NTS).
