Balik Kampung? - Brace For Longer Drive On LPT2 From July 8 To 12!
Hari Raya Aidiladha is just around the corner and East Coast Expressway 2 (LPT2) users planning to celebrate Hari Raya Aidiladha in the east coast states should expect longer travel times and heavy traffic from July 8 to 12.
According to the LPT2 Sdn Bhd director, Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi during the period, LPT2 users were expected to skyrocket to 55, 000 vehicles per day, up from 18,000 vehicles per day on normal days.
To accommodate the increased traffic, the number of patrols will be increased to assist LPT2 users who require assistance, particularly at critical locations along the 184-kilometer stretch between Jabor and Kuala Terengganu. Around 50 LPT2Ronda personnel will be stationed at the aforementioned locations.
It would take you extra hours to get to your kampung, so we at Caricarz would like to remind all LPT2 users to make sure your vehicles are in good working order before embarking on long journeys!
In case If you need assistance you can call the LPT2 hotline at 1800-88-0220.
Zakaria also reminded highway users to check @LPT2trafik on Twitter to get the latest traffic updates.
“look out for the electronic variable message (VMS) signs along the highway and listen for traffic announcements on major radio stations”
"LPT2 users are urged to plan their journey ahead of time and use Waze or Google Maps throughout the trip.
"Motorists are advised to ensure their Touch 'n Go cards are active and have sufficient balance to ensure a smooth journey," he said, adding that the cards can be reloaded at self-service kiosks at toll plazas and rest areas.
Selamat hari raya aidiladha from us at Caricarz!. Keep the speed limit and have a safe journey to your kampung.
