Chery continues growth as it exports nearly 36k units In June

Chinese car manufacturer Chery sold 35,818 vehicles outside China in June this year, marking a 50.3% year-on-year (YoY) increase. The feat sees it set a new monthly export record in its 21-year existence too.

This effort last month bumps the brand’s total exports for the first half of 2022 (1H22) up to 148,000 units, which in turn marks a 24.9% YoY increase as well. Of these,112,000 units, or over three quarters, were new energy vehicles, thus cementing Chery’s growing status as a brand at the forefront of vehicle tech.

Notable here were the Chery brand’s sales performance in Brazil throughout the first half of the year. During the same period, Chery also performed well in Chile where it commands 6.7% in cumulative sales, thus placing it in the top three in terms of sales volume in said market.

Leading the charge for the brand in these Latin American markets are its key offerings such as the Arrizo 6 sedan and the Tiggo 2 and Tiggo 8 SUVs.

Additionally, since entering South Africa in August last year, Chery has also maintained a strong growth momentum here. Cumulative January-May sales jumped by 21.1% month-on-month, whereas its June sales were also impressive.

Amidst on-going issues such as the aftermath of the global pandemic, as well as international logistics and transportation challenges, Chery is poised to withstand these pressures whilst continuing its overseas market expansion throughout the remainder of this year.
