Next-Gen Ford Ranger stays ahead with New Driver Assistance Technologies onboard
-full-full.jpg)
The ultimate next-gen FORD RANGER is now equipped into some of the most advanced crash protection features on top of advanced assistance technologies to be driven on the highway.
Before we go further, Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC) will debut the Ranger in Sarawak at Vivacity Megamall in Kuching from September 7 to September 11 which is happening in a few days.
As part of the model's nationwide debut tour, mark your calendar on October 5 to October 9 as the Ranger will be displayed in Sabah at Suria Sabah Shopping Centre in Kota Kinabalu.
Ford claims that hundreds of physical tests were tested by the team to notch the vehicle's safety performance and to validate the CAE modelling.

A significant number of computer-aided engineering (CAE) models were built to experiment with various accident scenarios, including full-frontal, frontal offset, pole test, rear offset crash tests, pedestrian impacts, roof crush tests, and others.

The new Ford's post-collision braking system, which is available on the next-generation Ranger WildTrak and XLT Plus, applies the brakes after a collision to reduce the risk of secondary collisions.

Good news to the next-gen WildTrak fans, the latest Evasive Steer Assist is now onboard where it functions as an assistance to driver in avoiding potential collisions with a slower or stopped vehicle ahead by providing steering assistance.
When braking alone is insufficient to avoid a collision, this allows the driver to steer with less effort. The system, which uses the same camera and radar as the Pre-collision Assist feature, is designed to operate at both urban and highway speeds.

The next-generation WildTrak also includes Reverse Brake Assist, which assists drivers in avoiding or mitigating potential collisions while reversing. For example, If the driver does not react quickly enough, the system will apply the brakes to bring the vehicle to a halt.

More than that, the newly added Cross Traffic Alert feature helps when making tricky reversing situations a little less stressful for drivers especially when shifted into Reverse gear then the system activates as a warning there are other vehicles approaching from sideways.

Safety has always come on top of the list when it comes to Ford’s pickup trucks. The next-gen Ranger WildTrak is incomplete without its Adaptive Cruise Control with a Stop-and-go feature that allows drivers to set a cruising speed and then maintain a set pacing distance from the vehicle ahead.
Here’s another amusing part of its innovative safety technologies, BLIS. It acts as a ‘set of eyes’ when performing a lane change or merging onto a freeway.
Imagine a faster-moving vehicle entering the Ranger's blind spot zone, BLIS will automatically warn the driver with a small light in the side mirror to avoid changing lanes.
