Kelana Jaya LRT Lines To Be Fully Operational Starting Tomorrow 14 November, 6am

Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd (Rapid Rail), the operator of LRT, MRT and Monorail services in the Klang Valley, will open the entire Kelana Jaya Line LRT line starting at 6am on Monday 14 November 2022, two days earlier than scheduled. This is after receiving the approval from the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD).
Based on the analysis and extensive tests carried out by Rapid Rail technical experts and OEM Thales Group, APAD has confirmed the stability of the Automatic Train Control (ATC) system making the Kelana Jaya Line LRT service safe to operate fully.
Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah, President and Chief Executive Officer of Kumpulan Prasarana Malaysia Berhad said the approval given was a very welcome news after part of the Kelana Jaya Line LRT was suspended since the 9th November.
He further added, "We are grateful to APAD for the approval granted to continue the LRT operation of the Kelana Jaya Line. Now we can return to providing the best service possible to all passengers. However, Rapid Rail will continue monitoring the system to ensure it remains stable so that services can run safely”.
"We once again emphasise that the decision taken is for the safety of users. The full opening of the service earlier than the scheduled 15 November date is expected to reduce the difficulties experienced by public transport users, especially those relying on the Kelana Jaya LRT line”.
COMPENSATION:
Rapid Rail had announced previously that free fares will be provided for every day of service disruption to Kelana Jaya Line LRT users. Even though the Kelana Jaya LRT line was only suspended for five (5) days, users will still be given free travel for seven (7) days. The compensation provided is as below.
MY50 Users
Users will be given additional free travel for seven (7) days when renewing the MY50 pass after expiry. Renewals can be done from 21 November to 20 December 2022.
Users need to go to any Customer Service Office at LRT, MRT, Monorail and BRT stations and the Customer Service Officer will help verify.
For MY50 pass customers who expire between Monday, 14 November to Sunday 20 November 2022, they can use their pass as usual without any charge. Please ensure that at least RM5.00 of stored value is maintained in the pass.
Touch 'n Go Card Users
Touch 'n Go card users using the Kelana Jaya Line service can use the card as usual without any charge between Monday 14 November to Sunday 20 November 2022 provided that the start or end destination is at any Kelana Jaya Line station.
Please ensure that at least RM5.00 of stored value is maintained on the card.
Token Users
All users who use the Kelana Jaya Line service from Monday 14 November to Sunday 20 November are eligible to enjoy free fare.
Users need to go to any Customer Service Office at LRT, MRT, Monorail and BRT stations to obtain a special one-way travel token, provided that the start or end destination is at any station on the Kelana Jaya Line.
Azharuddin also added, "We would like to thank everyone for your patience during this very challenging period. We would like to express our deepest appreciation to all those who have extended help and support, especially Smart Selangor, MARA Liner, Kuala Lumpur City Hall and also Malaysians who have provided assistance to the affected passengers".
Prasarana and Rapid Rail ended their official statement by apologising to all Malaysians who were affected by the interruption of the Kelana Jaya LRT Line service. Every effort will be taken to ensure that this kind of disruption will not happen again.
