Anthony Loke: Low Cost Carriers Need To Start Focusing On Avoiding Delays
-full_normal.jpg)
Minister of Transport, YB Anthony Loke yesterday during the launch of AirAsia’s special Chinese New Year (CNY) additional flights at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) called on airlines to start focusing on their operations more to avoid delays.
He further added that he has had discussions with several low-cost airlines in order to find a proper solution. He also commented that he understands that there are factors that are out of the airlines hands such as weather and technical issues but proper handling of this would help ease the public's frustration.

He was also grateful to airlines such as AirAsia which added 52 additional flights to six destination in Sabah and Sarawak at low fares for this CNY travel period (17 to 30 Jan) which includes extra RM199 and RM249 one-way fixed fare flights from Kuala Lumpur or Johor Bahru to Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri.
Loke further added that, "We want to give an opportunity to Malaysians who work in the peninsula to come home to celebrate the festivity in Sabah and Sarawak. Not only for Chinese New Year but will continue during the Hari Raya season later. This positive response shown by the public proved that the initiative benefits them.”
