Editor’s Note: February 2023 – It’s A Whirlwind Month!

Greetings, readers!
What was supposed to be a look ahead post for the start of the month didn’t materialise as planned. Indeed, there was plenty going. Though we’re halfway through the month, there’s still more to come from both us and industry in the remaining weeks of what is the shortest month on the calendar.

Before we proceed, I’d like to highlight what a great loss the local industry faced following the passing of Datuk Aishah Ahmad, president of the Malaysian Automotive Association. The industry veteran’s passing came as quite a shock for all us, especially for multi-year veterans amongst us at CariCarz.com. Indeed, she will be missed by all of us in the industry.

Speaking of shocks, I am sure by now you are up to speed with the efforts of national carmaker Perodua as it unleashes its new second generation Axia supermini. We’ve sampled the model prior to its launch and, suffice to say, it seems Perodua has yet another winner in its hands.

Other launches we’ve covered thus far include the new fifth-gen Range Rover L460, the localised (CKD) Mercedes-Benz EQS 500 4Matic, as well as the preview of the full Audi e-tron electric sports saloon and SUV range. Other launches we can expect later this month include an updated version of the Isuzu D-Max pick-up truck, as well as 5 sporty GR models from UMW Toyota.
Yes, we’re barely catching our breathe too, but worry not as we will continue to provide you with coverage and reports of all, so sit tight. On top of which, we will be churning out several test-drive reviews too starting with perhaps one of the most exciting new electric vehicles (EVs) to enter our market. I shall leave it to you in guessing what it is…

The localised Mercedes-Benz C200 was in our hands recently too, so look out for our take of it soon...
Well, given the amount of things we have at hand, I need not say further other than this being one of the most content-laden month for us here at CariCarz.com. If you’re new to our platform, I’d like to thank you for your support, regardless if you are browsing our site via your computers and laptops, or via our dedicated mobile app.
Whilst you’re at it, please don’t forget to leave us your thoughts, feedbacks, and suggestions via the dedicated comment sections on our site and social platforms. This will go a long way for us to serve you, our loyal audience, better.
Until the next note, please enjoy what we have to deliver and, as always, be safe when you’re out and about on the road.
Sincerely,
Thoriq Azmi
