Taiping Electric Bus Trial Service Starts From May 1 To July 31

The Taiping Municipal Council (MPT) announces its electric bus service will be free throughout a trial period of three months from May 1 to July 31, 2023.
Aside from that, the electric bus will be available at Heritage Trail which is situated around Taiping Town for a distance of 11.5 KM.
Starting from Monday to Friday, there will be four trips provided which begins at 9AM, 11AM, 3PM and 5PM. While weekday schedules are maintained, the bus availability on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays or school holidays will be set to five trips with an extra 1PM.

Do take note that each trip takes 1 hour 21 minutes plus accompanied by a tour guide giving information on the various locations of the Heritage Trail.
The electric bus journey starts from Taiping Zoo & Night Safari which then stops for 10 minutes at four places, like Raintree Walk, Jam Menara, Casual Market and Galeri Perbandaran Taiping. From there, the journey ends at the Burmese Pool and passengers will be taken back to Taiping Zoo & Night Safari.
With a capacity of 22 regular passengers and one disabled passenger, the electric bus service is part of local and foreign companies initiative since 2015.

Donated by the Japanese government through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), it’s expected to boost the tourism industry in Taiping Bandar Warisan which will be celebrating its 150th year next year.
Bus tickets will be available at the Taiping Zoo & Night Safari Ticket Counter with a price of RM20 for adults and RM10 for the elderly, children including people with disabilities (OKU).
At the beginning of the operation, tickets will be sold with a 30% discount rate until December 31. However, the public will only be charged starting August 1, 2023.
