Launched: BMW iX1 EV SUV – 313 HP, 440 Km Range, From RM285,800

BMW iX1 xDrive30 M Sport at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023.
BMW Malaysia expanded its all-electric fleet today at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023 by launching the all-new BMW iX1. This compact EV SUV is also the first one in the premium compact SUV segment to feature an all-electric powertrain, with its ICE-powered twin already available in the market for some time.
Arriving in a single xDrive30 M Sport variant, the all-new iX1 is powered by a dual-motor setup made of compact electrically-excited synchronous motor (EESM), delivering a total system output of 313 HP and 494 NM, propelling this compact SUV from nought to 100 KM/H in just 5.6 seconds. To preserve battery life, the iX1 V-max is electronically limited at 180 KM/H.

Based on the X1, the iX1 features a dual-motor driveline juiced by a 64.7 kWh battery pack offering 440 KM in range.
Juicing this powertrain setup is a sizable 64.7-kWh battery pack made from responsibly-sourced raw materials, supplying up to 440 KM of maximum travel range on a single charge. Speaking of charging, the iX1 supports DC fast charging rate of up to 130 kW, enabling it to charge from 10% to 80% in just 29 minutes. And just like any other EVs, the iX1 also supports normal AC charging at 11 kW rate – ideal for overnight charging at home via a dedicated wallbox charger.
In terms of styling, the iX1 looks painstakingly similar to its ICE-powered twin, the X1, with some minor additions. For example, the iX1 boasts some blue-hued trims at the exterior parts including the front bumper and grille, side skirts, as well as the rear ‘diffuser’.

19-inch M double-spoke style dual-tone wheels (left) and chrome front grille surround with aluminium-finished grille slats are hallmarks of the M Sport package treatment for the iX1.

M Sport package also sees the iX1 wearing sportier front and rear bumpers, the latter boasting a rear diffuser too.
The addition of M Sport package grants the iX1 with a slew of sporty bits like the chrome front grille surround with aluminium-finished grille slats, M badges on both front fenders, M high-gloss Shadowline, as well as the sporty 19-inch M light alloy wheels in double-spoke style, finished in 871 M Bicolour.
Beyond the cosmetics, the M Sports package grants the iX1 with the Adaptive M Suspension, which automatically adapts to the road conditions, providing better driving experience while not compromising on comfort.

Key tech present on board include a 10.25-inch instrument display and a 10.7-inch infotainment unit, both running the latest BMW OS8 programming.
On board, the iX1 is primed with the latest BMW Curved Display layout that consists of a 10.25-inch driver’s display, plus a larger 10.7-inch infotainment display, with both running on the latest BMW OS8 and fitted with BMW Live Cockpit Professional as standard.
Aside from the digital display, drivers will also get a dedicated BMW Heads-Up Display (HUD), plus an M leather steering wheel with multiple driving and media-related controls mounted on them – the latter being part of the M Sport package.

Other key equipment on board include a premium Harman Kardon audio suite, dual-zone climate control, cabin ambient lighting, as well as power-adjustable sport seats and the BMW Digital Key Plus system.
Elsewhere, the iX1 sports a bevy of premium equipment like the Harman Kardon Hi-Fi system, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting system, sport seats with electric adjustments for front passenger seats, as well as the BMW Digital Key Plus – which grants you the ability to unlock and start the car using your mobile phones.
In spite of belonging to the compact SUV segment, the iX1 boasts a sizable cabin and cargo space, with the boot space measuring at 490-litre, which can be further expanded to 1,495-litre by folding the rear passenger seats.

Bowing at the Malaysia Autoshow 2023, the BMW iX1 xDrive30 M Sport commands RM285,800.
With up to six exterior and three interior hue options to choose from, the all-new BMW iX1 is priced at RM285,800, now available for pre-booking via BMW Malaysia’s official website or any BMW Malaysia’s authorised dealers. This includes a standard 5-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty with Free Scheduled Service Programme, plus a separate 8-year or 160,000 KM EV battery warranty, whichever comes first.
Opting for the BMW Group Malaysia Premium Ownership experience will grant you access to BMW Roadside Assistance and Accident Hotline, the BMW Group Loyalty+ Mobile App with BMW Privilege Card, as well as BMW Services Online.
Visitors to the Malaysia Autoshow 2023 can feast their eyes on the all-new BMW iX1 SUV at BMW Malaysia’s booth, located in both Hall A1 and Hall D.
