The Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated (SUKE) highway Phase 2 will open to the public at midnight tonight.
From midnight tonight until 11.59pm on June 29, the highway connecting Sri Petaling and Bukit Jalil on the Shah Alam Motorway (Kesas) to the Cheras-Kajang interchange will be toll-free for two weeks.
Works minister Alexander Nanta Linggi officially launched Phase 2 at SUKE's Alam Damai toll plaza, earlier.

Nanta congratulated all parties involved in the highway's construction and stated that Phase 2 would provide improved connectivity and effective traffic dispersal.
“The two new interchanges that will be opened are anticipated to help alleviate traffic congestion issues faced by users, especially those residing in the vicinity, and particularly frequent users of the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2),” he said.
Meanwhile, Prolintas director Ikmal Hijaz Hashim stated that Phase 2 of the SUKE highway was another significant accomplishment in the company's efforts to become the preferred highway operator in the Klang Valley.
“Its opening has been eagerly awaited by many highway users in the Klang Valley as it offers an alternative route and creates seamless connectivity that enhances travel for highway users,” he said.

SUKE is a 24.4km three-lane dual-carriageway that connects Sri Petaling and Ulu Kelang.
It has 14 interchanges, connects to major highways and roads in Kuala Lumpur, and serves over 60 residential areas.
It connects to Sri Petaling, Sungai Besi, Alam Damai, Cheras-Kajang, Cheras-Hartamas, Bukit Teratai, Tasik Tambahan, Permai, Kosas, Pekan Ampang, Ampang Point, Hulu Kelang, Taman Hillview, and Bukit Antarabangsa via 14 interchanges.
The highway will also connect to eight other motorways, including MRR2, Kesas, the Kuala Lumpur-Seremban Highway, the Sungai Besi Motorway (Besraya), the Cheras-Kajang Motorway (CKE), the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (Akleh), the Duta-Ulu Kelang Motorway (DUKE), and the East Klang Valley Motorway (EKVE).
It is expected to help accommodate some of the traffic that normally passes through MRR2 and cut travel time from Sri Petaling to Ulu Kelang to 25 minutes, down from 75 minutes now.
