Huawei And Chery Previews New Tesla Model 3-Rivalling Luxeed EV

Here's you first look at the new Luxeed EV brand's new 'EH3' saloon created jointly by Huawei and Chery.
Chinese automaking giant Chery have teamed up with tech giant Huawei to birth this coupe-like electric saloon pictured above, which has been previewed for the first time via a social media posting.
Revealed by Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solution business unit, this single image of the sedan was posted by said exec on Weibo where he called it a “pure electric coupe”, along with the promise that it will “meet you in this quarter”.
This sleek EV saloon, reportedly codenamed the EH3, will bear a new brand name called Luxeed – said name also birthed from the Chery-Huawei partnership. This also appears to be a completely separate endeavor from Chery’s existing premium brand that’s – confusingly – called Exceed.
From the looks of it, the EH3 stands to rival against the Nio ET5, XPeng P7i, BYD Seal, and Tesla Model 3. Underpinning Chery’s E0X platform, the EH3 sports a rather sleek design bolstered by traits like stowaway door handles, full-width forward lightbar below the headlamps, distinct side mirrors, and Brembo brakes.
Also present are an array of sensors tied to the Huawei ADS 2.0 suite – the brand’s autonomous driving tech. In total, the suite harnesses 11 high-definition cameras, a LiDAR sensor, 3 MM-wave radars, as well as 12 ultrasonic radars.

Given its styling and barrage of advanced tech primed on board, the new Luxeed EV is set to rival against the Tesla Model 3 (left) and the BYD Seal (right).

No technical details were revealed by the Luxeed EH3 reportedly packs a high-tech punch that includes an advanced self-driving module.
Sources from China report this system can drive up to 200 KM without manual intervention, further noting its ability to navigate both through cities and on highways. This is also likely the result of the EH3’s adoption of Huawei’s Harmony OS4 powered by a Qualcomm system-on-chip (SOC).
The latter tech also reportedly promises a wide range of multimedia options. We can also expect the on board infotainment system to feature high compatibility with Huawei’s renowned array of consumer electronics – smartphones, laptops, etc. – and even connect and pilot a drone through the in-car display.
Apart from this, little else was disclosed, and technical data remains unknown as well. However, the use of Chery’s E0X platform suggests an 800-volt architecture, dual-motor setup, and the use of CATL-sourced batteries that could promise up 700 KM in range.
Tentatively, sources from China report that this new Luxeed EV is set to command a starting price figure of RMB 200,000 – approx. RM127,638. Expect more details – plus images – of this sleek and high tech new EV from the Huawei-Chery joint venture sometime within this quarter.
