Renowned Italian-German marque Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled its latest concept model today, cordially known as the Pura Vision. Described as an ‘electric Luxury Utility Vehicle’ (e-LUV), this new concept model will serve as a basis for the next-gen all-electric SUV models from the marque.

Starting off with its dimensions, the Pura Vision is a pretty big car, measuring 5,215 MM long, 2,147 MM wide (including side mirrors), and 1,641 MM tall. However, Pininfarina managed to hide its bulkiness thanks to the clever design that mixes proportions taken from several iconic Pininfarina-designed models like the 1947 Cisitalia.

Speaking of design, the Pura Vision comes with a familiar-looking front fascia, featuring hidden headlights with slim LED DRLs. From every angle, you’ll certainly notice the Pura Vision’s unique narrow glasshouse that ends rather abruptly at its tailgate, which comes with a pair of slim LED taillights and prominent air vents at the lower corners.

Elsewhere, this muscular concept SUV rides on massive 23-inch wheels finished in matte black, while the rest of the car is draped in Bianco Sestriere Gloss colourway with gloss black roof – giving the car a two-tone finish.

The Pura Vision comes with unique door opening!

On board, the Pura Vision gets a futuristic-looking cabin that combines premium materials like charcoal leather, soft semi-aniline leather, signature textile fabric, exposed carbon fibre and anodized aluminium. Upon entering the vehicle, passengers will be greeted by the unique door opening that unveils the car’s innovative panoramic sunroof featuring a unique ‘biscotto’ LED ring light taking centre stage.

The front passengers get floating front seats, a floating central console with the infotainment display mounted on it, as well as an expansive multi-stack front dash with ambient lighting system. Drivers, on the other hand, will get a sleek steering wheel with ‘Pura Vision’ writing on it, plus a sizable digital instrument cluster supplemented with an additional head-up display, for good measure. Elsewhere, all four seats of the Pura Vision get individual headrests with built-in speakers inside them.

Unfortunately, Pininfarina hasn’t unveiled any details pertaining to the Pura Vision’s powertrain specs. While the marque’s flagship hypercar – the Pininfarina Battista – gets its electric hardware from renowned EV manufacturer Rimac, the same can’t be said for the production versions of the Pura Vision. Instead, Pininfarina insisted that they will be developed from the ground up in Italy and will feature advanced technologies pioneered at the marque's Digital Innovation Hub in Germany.

The all-new Pininfarina Pura Vision concept model is slated to make its public debut at the upcoming Monterey Car Week, taking place from Aug 17 to 20. Aside from the Pura Vision, several other Pininfarina models, including the one-off special Battista Edizione Nino Farina and another new production model will also be displayed at the show.
