A 100 kW DCFC facility is now open to the public at Proton’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) along the KESAS Highway in partnership with Gentari Sdn Bhd (Gentari). All EV users, regardless of brand, can easily utilise the dynamic charger which would be located at the Proton Crystal showroom's customer parking lot.
With its dual-gun configuration, the 100 kW DCFC can charge two EVs at once, dividing the output into 50 kW for each gun. At this facility, charging is available at a rather steep RM2.40 per minute using the JomCharge, Setel, or ChargEV mobile apps anytime of the day.

This DCFC facility is the result of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Gentari and Proton new energy subsidiary PRO-NET on 12 October 2022, both companies have explored various solutions to bolster Malaysia’s charging network.
"We are grateful to have a dynamic partner like Gentari, who have installed the first on-site DC charger at our headquarters," stated Roslan Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Proton. "We look forward to more such collaborations in the future within our dealer network."

One such partnership is the development of a proof-of-concept mobile EV charging solution using the Proton Exora. Three proof-of-concept mobile chargers, each with 30 kW of charging power, are currently being tested. All three are now under contract with BMW Malaysia for the time being while user studies are conducted to determine the demand for this novel concept.
Shah Yang Razalli, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Gentari and CEO of Gentari Green Mobility, added, "We are thrilled to take the next step in our strategic partnership with Proton with the launch of a network of charging facilities to support Proton's imminent entry into Malaysia's EV market."

PRO-NET is also working with Gentari to install fast chargers at many Proton dealerships. Five further Gentari DC chargers will be erected as part of the program's first phase by the end of 2023, with a total of twenty planned.
Four smart Malaysia dealers have also installed DC chargers from other sources ahead of the debut of their first model, the smart #1.
