DC Handal forms a strategic partnership with Auto Bavaria to expand its DCFC network in the Klang Valley and Penang.

Local e-mobility solutions provider Handal Green Mobility Sdn Bhd (DC Handal) has formed a strategic partnership with Auto Bavaria, the largest network of authorised dealerships for BMW Group Malaysia, to further expand its fast-charging network.

This partnership sees both entities working together to add more DC fast chargers (DCFC) to both DC Handal’s and BMW Group Malaysia’s charging networks in Klang Valley and Penang, with 10 preliminary sites across both areas already identified. More importantly, both of the firm’s efforts are also in-line with the government’s target of setting up 10,000 EV charging bays nationwide by 2025.

Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MIT) YB Tuan Liew Chin Tong

Present during this strategic partnership announcement was the Deputy Minister of Investment, Trade, and Industry (MITI), YB Tuan Liew Chin Tong, who said, “As Malaysia strives to position itself as a regional leader in sustainable mobility, the progressive vision showcased by Auto Bavaria and DC Handal sets a commendable precedent.”

“The strategic expansion of fast-charging facilities for electric vehicles aligns seamlessly with our national agenda to fortify the electric vehicle ecosystem and chart the course towards a greener, more resilient Malaysia,” the deputy MITI minister added.

Aside from the 10 initial locations, both DC Handal and Auto Bavaria are also planning to locate more sites for their DCFC stations, with the latter’s vast dealership network also included in the pipeline. Ultimately, this partnership will also contribute to further expanding BMW Group Malaysia’s vast charging network in our country.

BMW Group Malaysia has made over 1,700 charging facilities available in its network, and a huge chunk of them came into fruition thanks to the firm’s partnerships with several local charging point operators (CPOs) like ChargEV, Yinson Greentech, JomCharge, Gentari, Chargesini, Go To-U, and many more. Aside from these CPOs, this network also features over 100 BMW i and MINI charging facilities, with most of them located in several BMW and MINI’s authorised dealerships across Malaysia.

DC Handal director Lim Chern Chuen

Through this newly-announced partnership, both Auto Bavarian and BMW Group Malaysia now have a new and strong partner in DC Handal, which will play a vital role in expanding the firm’s DCFC network. DC Handal director Lim Chern Chuen commented that the firm’s partnership with Auto Bavaria “reflects our commitment to provide our customers with not only the best EVSE technology but a seamless and convenient charging experience through our network.”

DC Handal's 200 kW DCFC in Bamboo Hills now feature BMW Auto Bavaria branding

Currently, DC Handal operates several DCFCs scattered across Klang Valley, with most of them located within or nearby business districts. This includes several BMW-branded ones like the 200 kW DCFC in Bamboo Hills, the 200 kW DCFC in UOA Business Park Glenmarie, the 100 kW DC chargers at The Vertical, Bangsar South, and many more. Unlike most charging EV charging stations, DC Handal offers direct payment terminals at all its charging stations, aside from the industry-standard app-based payment platforms.
