"Fallen Victim" On Rail Track Interrupts Keramat LRT Station Service!

Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) reported late yesterday that it responded to an emergency call at 9:10 pm for assistance in rescuing a victim who had "fallen" onto the tracks at the Putra Dato' Keramat LRT Station in Kampung Dato' Keramat, Kuala Lumpur.
The BBP Keramat JBPM responded to the call and according to the Operations Commander, PBK II Mohd Fabell bin Md Yasin, the incident involved a man who had “fallen” onto the LRT tracks and had his legs pinned on both sides.

The victim was reported to still be conscious at the time of the rescue effort. Rescue efforts were actively carried out to extricate the victim from the tracks and the 27-year-old victim has been successfully removed by the rescue team with the assistance of LRT technical personnel to move the train in reverse.
The victim however was later confirmed to have passed away by the Ministry of Health (KKM) due to severe injuries from being run over by the LRT train. According to JBPM, the case has been handed over to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for further action.

Rapid KL has not issued any statement with regards to the incident with exception to quoting “technical difficulties”. The concessionaire has however released a statement on its social media that the “technical difficulties” have been resolved and Dato' Keramat station and route is back operational.
