North Most DCFC Now At Starbucks Changlun - ChargEV; RM1.20/kWh

As the year comes to a close, CPOs nationwide appear to be making the final push in rolling out EV chargers nationwide, particularly in popular tourist destinations and highways, to make EV users' travels easier. EV adoption has also quadrupled since last year.
Just a couple of days back we highlighted the opening of the very first DC fast charging (DCFC) station in Perlis by ChargEV at Starbucks Kangar Jaya. Since then ChargEV, part of the Yinson Group, has established the nation's northernmost DCFC which is located at Starbucks Changlun.

As we pointed out prior, the collaboration to roll-out a network of EV Chargers nationwide took off in Oct 2022 between Starbucks and ChargEV. To date, they have successfully rolled out 31 EV charging stations at Starbucks outlets nationwide. This venture also aims to have an EV charging station at drive-thru Starbucks outlets ideally within a 150 KM distance in between each other.

Now, Starbucks Changlun suits travellers entering Thailand via Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah entry-point. The next closest Starbucks EV charging facility before Changlun is situated at Amanjaya in Sungai Petani, Kedah, which is about 93 KM away.

Starbucks Changlun’s DCFC houses a dual-gun 60 kW DC charging unit with two (2) EV charging bays (EVCB). This output is halved if both nozzles are in use.
The charging rate at this facility, based on the app, is RM1.20/kWh. Some ChargEV chargers can also be accessed by using other apps such as JomCharge or Setel.
