Agong's Farewell Ceremony - 7 Roads Closed On January 30

Seven (7) routes in the nation's capital will be completely closed on Tuesday (January 30), while 13 routes will be closed gradually in conjunction with the farewell ceremony for the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
Al-Sultan Abdullah's five-year reign as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong, which began on January 31, 2019, will end on January 30, when he will be succeeded by Sultan Ibrahim ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar.

In a statement released on Sunday (January 28), Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri, the Director of Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT), announced the complete closure of Jalan Damansara to Jalan Parlimen (from the old Istana) and Jalan Sultan Abdul Halim to Jalan Parlimen, starting at 9AM, with plans for gradual reopening in stages.
Additional road closures include Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar to Jalan Parlimen, Jalan Kuching to Bulatan Dato' Onn, Jalan Salahudin to Bulatan Dato' Onn, Jalan Kuching/Jalan Sultan Ismail to Bulatan Dato' Onn, and Jalan Tun Perak to Bulatan Dato' Onn.

The affected roads which will undergo temporary closure at 9AM and will be reopened gradually are:
- Lebuhraya Sultan Iskandar to Jalan Damansara
- Jalan Travers to Jalan Damansara (from Muzium Negara)
- Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin to Jalan Damansara (from Bulatan Hishamuddin)
- Jalan Tun Sambanthan to Jalan Damansara
- Jalan Syed Putra to Jalan Istana
- Jalan Dewan Bahasa to Jalan Istana
- Jalan Sungai Besi to KL-Seremban Expressway
- Lingkaran Tengah/Jalan Connaught from Lebuhraya Syed Putra.
This closure also includes the New Pantai Motorway (NPE) from Pantai Dalam, the Maju Motorway from the Salak South Toll, the Kesas Highway from Sungai Besi, the Kesas Highway from the KL/Seremban Motorway, and the Sukom Interchange leading to the Kesas Highway.

Datuk Mohd Azman also stated that 91 senior and junior police officers from JSPT Kuala Lumpur would be assigned traffic control duties on that day to facilitate the send-off ceremony.
He advised drivers to avoid fully closed roads to prevent traffic congestion and to follow the instructions of traffic officers on duty at the designated locations.
