BMW i5 Touring Images Leaked Ahead of Spring 2024 Debut

Ahead of its planned global debut later this year, several images of the much-anticipated BMW i5 Touring have leaked online. As posted by Instagram user @wilcoblok, these images showcase the new D-segment wagon without any camouflage or covered parts.

Starting with the first image, it depicts the front quarter angle of the new i5 Touring. Aside from its extended roofline, the i5 Touring looks painstakingly similar to its saloon twin, featuring the same face with an illuminated kidney grille design at the front. Keen eyes will notice that this leaked i5 Touring now rides on a different set of wheels, featuring a more enclosed design with a two-tone finish.

Moving on to the next two images, they showcased the rear part of the i5 Touring. As shown in previous teaser images, this wagon sports a pair of slim LED taillights with a slightly different design from what we saw on the i5 saloon. Besides that, the wagon gets the same sporty rear bumper accent as its sedan twin, while its extended wagon roofline looks quite sporty and rakish, with a pair of gloss black roof rails placed on top of it.
Although these leaked images showcased the new i5 Touring model, we can expect its ICE-powered twin to boast the same design as this one, though we’d expect to see sportier tailpipes at its derriere.

The new BMW i5 eDrive40 sedan launched in Malaysia last year gets a single, rear-mounted electric motor setup rated at 335 HP (250 kW) and 430 NM
As of now, BMW has yet to reveal the technical details for both the i5 Touring and the eighth-gen 5 Series Touring. However, we’d reckon it’ll be safe to assume that the electric wagon will be offered with the same single- and dual-motor options as its sedan twin, while the ICE-powered variant will be available with a variety of hybrid powertrain options – including a souped-up M5 Touring, which is rumoured to boast a straight-six plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain setup capable of outputting 789 HP.

As per our previous report, the new BMW i5 Touring is set to make its global debut later in spring this year, where this sporty wagon is expected to hit wagon-friendly markets like its native Germany and other European countries. Their availability beyond the Old Continent, however, remains questionable.
