Economy Express Bus Fares Will Increase By 10% During Hari Raya
According to the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad), express bus fares in the economy class will rise by 10% from April 4 to April 17 during the Aidilfitri celebration.
Apad said in a statement that the Cabinet had approved an RM0.009 per km festive season surcharge, raising the category's current fares to RM0.102 per km from RM0.093 per km.
In addition, Apad announced that applications for temporary operator licenses for express bus services in conjunction with Hari Raya, which is scheduled for April 10 and 11, are now being accepted. Applications can be submitted at all regional Apad offices and road transport department (JPJ) counters.
The period for eligible operators to apply is March 11–April 2. The licenses that are approved will only be valid from April 4–April 17.

The purpose of this is to guarantee that there are enough express buses to handle the surge in travelers who are returning to their hometowns during the holiday season.
It stated that "applications are limited to economic services only" and that express buses and stage buses that are older than the age restriction and have been approved by Puspakom VR1 Special Report (Code 9009) are also eligible to apply.
