Ford Ranger Stormtrak Coming To Malaysia Soon?

Based on the teasers below, we're certain SDAC-Ford is poised to introduce the Ford Ranger Stormtrak variant in Malaysia later this month.

More pick-up truck news today, this time stemming locally from local Ford distributors Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC-Ford). Besides issuing a press release for which, the firm also just released a cryptic teaser video on its social media platforms (FB & IG) for an upcoming new addition.

From what we can garner, we are fairly certain the firm is set to release the Ford Ranger Stormtrak special locally very soon. As a refresher, the Stormtrak was revealed early last year for neighbouring Thailand.

Much like the Ford Ranger Platinum variant launched late last year, the Stormtrak is a special variant tailored to a specific lifestyle. In the Stormtrak’s case, it stands as the variant that bridges the rugged, go-anywhere and do-anything elements of the WIidtrak with the sporty aesthetics of the Raptor.

The Stormtrak is currently on sale in neighbouring Thailand, and it sports a number of key additions plus distinct styling tweaks inside and out.

Key highlights include a distinct black-finished grille and 20-inch wheels with red highlights in both, additional auxiliary lighting, striking decal graphics, and the inclusion of the Ranger Platinum-derived flexible rack system in its flatbed.

Whilst SDAC-Ford didn’t name the upcoming new special outright in both its teasers and press release, the firm instead notes that keen prospects can soon view and place bookings for it later this month. The firm also stressed that this new addition will see “limited availability” as well.

Critically, the Stormtrak variant also features the same flexible rack system as primed in the Ranger Platinum variant.

Critically, bookings for this special variant will be collected exclusively via SDAC-Ford’s dedicated only shopping portal – shop.sdacford.com.my/vehicle/ - starting May 30. The firm will also reward these online bookings customers with a limited edition Ford Ranger windbreaker.

Besides that, SDAC-Ford also confirmed plans to publicly debut this new limited edition Ford Ranger variant during its upcoming roadshow event taking place at the 1Utama Shopping Centre, PJ from May 30 to June 2. The effort will also include test-drive opportunities for said new addition.
