Launched: Lamborghini Urus SE – 789 HP Super-PHEV SUV From RM1.028 Million*

The Lamborghini Urus SE super-PHEV SUV officially debuted locally earlier today.
Having made its global debut just over a month ago in Beijing, China during Auto China 2024, the new and now electrified redux of the Lamborghini Urus super-SUV made landfall in Malaysia earlier today.
Christened as the Lamborghini Urus SE, Sant’Agata’s MLB Evo-based super-SUV has been given an electrified twist courtesy of a brand new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) setup paired with its familiar 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 mill.

In SE form, the Urus retains its signature 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, but it gets paired with a PHEV setup comprised of an e-motor integrated into its 8-speed automatic box and a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
This PHEV package – a first for any production Lamborghini – adds an e-motor that’s integrated into the 8-speed automatic box paired with the mill, which is juiced by a newly added 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that can be plugged-in and re-charged externally.
Altogether, the setup outputs manic figures of 800 PS (789 HP) and 950 NM to drive all four wheels, thus allowing 0-100 KM/H sprints in just 3.4 secs – 0.1 sec quicker than the Urus S. Crucially, the PHEV setup can drive the Urus SE up to speeds of 130 KM/H and cover up to 60 KM in range too.

With 789 HP and 950 NM available, 0-100 KM/H takes just 3.4 secs. Added PHEV setup also grants EV drive mode up to speeds of 130 KM/H and range of up to 60 KM.
Electrification also prompted Lamborghini to revise the transmission mentioned with a new electro-hydro multi-plate clutch hardware. This now variably distributes toque between the front and rear axles.
Also replaced is the mechanical limited-slit diff (LSD) unit, which has been swapped for a new electronic ‘virtual’ LSD unit instead. In turn, this now delivers what Lamborghini describes as “on-demand oversteer”.

Aesthetically new are the headlights, bonnet, grille, and rear hatch.
Aesthetically, the Urus SE sports several mild revisions over the regular Urus model it replaces. Key highlights include new redesigned bonnet and grille combination, as well redesigned full-LED headlights, restyled rear hatch, and new 23-inch ‘Galanthus’ wheel option.
On board, the Urus SE sees its cabin gain a larger new 12.3-inch infotainment display, restyled climate control vents, as well as physical controls revised with more tactile and mechanical feel imbued. New too are a slew of material options for the seats, dash, and cabin trims.

The unit displayed today featured Carbon Ceramic Brakes and new 23-inch 'Galanthus' wheel options primed. Notable too is the presence of Pirelli P Zero high performance tyres plus height adjustable air suspension with semi-active dampers.
Elsewhere in its kit list, the Urus SE show to local press today came fitted with massive carbon ceramic brake rotor options measuring 440 MM (front) and 410 MM (rear), trick pneumatic height-adjustable air suspension with semi-active dampers, as well as Pirelli P Zero performance tyres.
Following today’s launch, the new Lamborghini Urus SE is now open for orders and commissioning through Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur (Sunagata Supercars Sdn Bhd) with a base price of RM1,028,000 excluding duties, taxes, options, and on-road costs.
As usual with high-end luxury and performance vehicles as such, you’d best double – or triple, depending on customisation levels – said figure for a realistic final purchase price.
