DBKL New Cascading Compound Rate Starts Today, Prompt Payment Encouraged

Starting today, July 1, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will enforce new compound rates for traffic offences under the Road Transport Act 1987 and its subsidiary legislation.
DBKL announced in a statement recently that the compound rates will increase over time for different vehicle categories as highlighted below:

Motorcycles: RM30 for payments made within one to 15 days, RM50 for payments made between 16 and 30 days, and RM80 for payments made between 31 and 60 days.
Cars: RM50 during one to 15 days, RM80 between 16 and 30 days, and RM100 between 31 and 60 days.
Heavy vehicles: RM200 for payments made within one to 15 days, RM250 for payments made between 16 and 30 days, and RM300 for payments made between 31 and 60 days.
These rates are designed to increase over time, encouraging timely payment of fines.
