PJD Link Revival Mulled Despite Cancelation Announcement

The drama of the scrapped Petaling Jaya Dispersal Link (PJD Link) highway is back to haunt PJ residents.
Last Thursday, Selangor State Public Infrastructure and Facilities, Agricultural Modernisation, and Agro-Based Industry Committee chairman Izham Hashim, announced that PJD Link is once again on the drawing board pending a review by the Selangor Economic Action Council (MTES).
Izham revealed that the federal administration had requested a review of the project following the concessionaire's alleged improvements to at least five areas along the proposed highway. However, Focus Malaysia reports that these so-called "improvements" fail to address the core concerns of the affected communities.

The Coalition Against PJD Link, a steadfast opponent of the project for the past decade, demands clarity from unity government spokesman Fahmi Fadzil, who previously announced the project's cancellation. The coalition is alarmed by the Selangor government's contradictory stance, driven by Putrajaya’s request to reconsider the project.
Here at CariCarz.com, we, too, wonder why there is a strong push in ensuring this project carries on despite so much opposition against it

Sheikh Moqhtar Kadir, from the Coalition Against PJD Link, expressed the residents' deep frustration and sense of betrayal. "We have opposed this project for ten years and believed the cabinet's decision was final. How can Selangor revive something that the cabinet has terminated?” he said.
The coalition also wonders why the Selangor Menteri Besar is not taking a stand on this matter? Petaling Jaya’s MP Lee Chean Chung also voiced shock before vowing to raise the issue during the ongoing parliamentary session, emphasising the need for accountability and transparency from the Selangor exco.
