Chery Omoda 5 Gains New Bloodstone Red & Vanilla Blue Colours

Chinese automaker Chery Auto Malaysia has silently updated the colourway options for its best-selling model, the Chery Omoda 5. The two new colourways offered to the Omoda 5 are named Bloodstone Red and Vanilla Blue.

Unveiled by several different Chery dealers via their respective social media channels, these two new colourways are offered exclusively to the baseline Omoda 5C variant, which was previously offered in Khaki White, Dark Black, and Phantom Grey. Unlike the top-spec Omoda 5 H variant, which comes standard with the striking red accents, the Omoda 5 C is a more subtle of the two variants.

Also important to note that according to these dealers, only 150 units are available for each of these two new colourways, meaning that only 300 units of these specially-coloured Omoda 5s are produced by the Wuhu-based automaker. Also special is the price advertised by these dealers for these special-hued Omoda 5C, as each of them is tagged at only RM99,800, which is RM8,600 less than what’s been advertised at Chery Auto Malaysia’s official website.
Given that we’re now in the midst of the Merdeka month, perhaps this is just a special promotion run by some of the dealers for the model. As of now, Chery Malaysia has yet to put out any official statements or announcements regarding this promotion, so your guess is just as good as ours.

Back to the model, while this baseline variant gets two new colourways over its top-spec twin, the Omoda 5C misses out on a on a few key pieces of equipment, such as the panoramic sunroof, the powered tailgate, ventilated functions for the front seats, the 360-degree camera view, and more. But regardless of variants, the Malaysian-spec Omoda 5 is powered by the same 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol mill that outputs 154 HP and 230 NM. Power is sent to the front wheels (FWD) via a CVT automatic gearbox.
