Proton e.MAS 7 EV Basks In Limelight Of Merdeka Day Parade Appearance

The Proton e.MAS 7 EV prototype made a sensational public debut last weekend in Putrajaya where it was part of a 25-car motorcade by Proton that participated in the Merdeka Day parade.
National automaker Proton had special plans to mark the 67th year our nation’s independence. In fact, during last weekend’s Merdeka Day parade held in Putrajaya, Proton had a 25-car strong contingent participating in it, but one particular car stood out over the rest.
We’re talking of course about the prototype of the upcoming Proton e.MAS 7 EV crossover SUV, and its participation in Proton’s parade convoy had certainly stolen the limelight from many Malaysians who both attended the soiree and watched it live on television.

Unlike the initial prototype shown to press last month, this prototype participated in last weekend's Merdeka Day parade donning a new and more patriotic-themed camouflage livery.
Making the affair even more memorable was the special camouflage said Proton e.MAS 7 prototype wore for the occasion. Compared to the blue-to-black fade camouflage motif donned on the prototype shown to local press early last month, the new livery it wore last weekend clearly had a more ‘patriotic’ theme.
Even without the colours of the Jalur Gemilang draped all over it, the Proton e.MAS 7 was destined to be an awe-inspiring sight for many who laid eyes on it last weekend. Destined the become the first all-electric production roadcar to bear the Proton badge, it also holds a lot of promise.

Lucky Merdeka Day parade attendees who were fortunate enough to have taken a much closer look at the Proton e.MAS 7 EV prototype during last weekend's Merdeka Day parade in Putrajaya.
“The enthusiastic response from the crowd demonstrated a strong resonance with our vision for sustainable mobility and innovation. Seeing the e.MAS 7 in action was a moment of national pride, showcasing our commitment to building a greener mobility for Malaysia,” expressed Zhang Qiang, CEO of PRO-NET.
The exec continued further highlighting how the e.MAS 7’s Merdeka Day parade debut doubles up as a reflection of both the firm’s dedication towards innovation excellence and reinforcement of the brand’s connection with many Malaysians.
Besides distributing the Geely-owned smart Automobile brand, Proton’s PRO-NET arm is charged with introducing the Proton e.MAS sub-brand to budding Malaysian EV enthusiasts soon. Moreover, the subsidiary is already hard at work establishing a dealership network plus a dedicated owner’s app.

As a refresher, the Proton e.MAS 7 will be the first all-electric production roadcar to bear the Proton badge. It is set to be distributed by PRO-NET sometime later this year.
Whilst we still have to wait just a little longer before the Proton e.MAS 7 is properly introduced, PRO-NET is instead banking on this sense of national pride and patriotism stemming from said upcoming EV crossover SUV through its latest campaign.
In light of the recent National Day and upcoming Malaysia Day festivities, the Proton e.MAS Merdeka Campaign seeks to offer 15 creative participants the opportunity to each win RM67 in TnG e-Wallet credits each for their creative comments on Proton e.MAS’s Facebook or Instagram posts.
The contest runs from Aug 31 to Sept 16, and winners will be announced on Oct 4 via Proton e.MAS’s social media platforms and pages mentioned. To participate, simply follow these steps:
- Follow the official “Proton e.MAS Cars” Facebook page, or @protonemasofficial on Instagram and like the “Your Proton e/mas 7 Dream” post.
- Comment with your most creative and inspiring way to complete the following sentence: “Proton e.MAS 7 the first national electric vehicle is ______”.
- Tag 3 (THREE) friends and share the post with the hashtag #eMAS7Merdeka included.
