Denza D9 EV MPV Debuts in Thailand – Est RM258K, Malaysia Next?

BYD’s Denza makes its Thai market debut with the D9 EV MPV, priced approximately from RM258,000 onwards.
BYD’s luxury sub-brand Denza officially made its Thai market debut last week with its D9 EV MPV. For the Thai market, the premium EV MPV arrives in two variants, namely the baseline Premium and the range-topping Performance AWD.

Starting with the Premium, this supposed entry-level variant is powered by a single, front-mounted (FWD) e-motor setup rated at 308 HP (230 kW) and 360 NM, which allows it for a 0-100 KM/H sprint time of 9.5 seconds. Juiced by BYD’s proprietary 103.36-kWh LFP ‘blade’ battery pack, the D9 Premium is good for up to 620 KM of maximum EV range, at least according to the more lenient CLTC standards.
Meanwhile, the top-spec D9 Performance AWD is powered by a peppier dual-motor AWD setup with a total system output of up to 369 HP (275 kW) and 470 NM. Using the same battery pack as the baseline model, the D9 Performance AWD gets a quicker century sprint time of 6.9 seconds, albeit at the expense of a slightly discounted EV range of 600 KM (CLTC).

Measuring 5,250 MM long, 1,960 MM wide, 1,920 MM tall, and a wheelbase of 3,110 MM, the D9 MPV is roughly the same size as its fellow luxury MPV compatriots such as the Zeekr 009 and the Maxus Mifa 9, to name a few.

For the Thai market, the Denza D9 EV MPV starts at THB 1.999 million (RM258,000 approximately) for the baseline Premium variant and THB 2.699 million (RM349,000 approximately) for the top-spec Performance AWD. With deliveries slated to commence as early as December this year, Denza Thailand also plans to open five showrooms and establish ten sales outlets within the year.
Following Hong Kong, Cambodia, and Singapore, Thailand becomes the fourth market in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region to officially launch the Denza brand. Given that BYD Cars Malaysia previously confirmed Denza’s arrival in 2025, Malaysia could potentially become the fifth APAC nation to receive this luxury sub-brand, with the D9 MPV also tipped to be one of the earliest models to make its way, followed by a slew of plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models afterwards.
