Launched: Porsche Macan EV – 4 Variants, From RM430,000 Onwards

Porsche Malaysia (SDAP) officially launched the new and all-electric second-gen Porsche Macan earlier today.
After previewing it earlier this year and opening up the order books early, Porsche Malaysia (Sime Darby Auto Performance – SDAP) officially launched the all-electric second-generation Porsche Macan SUV earlier today in the heart of the Kuala Lumpur city centre.
“The Macan has long been a popular model since its debut, and we’re excited to begin delivering the all-new second-generation model to our customers,” expressed SDAP’s CEO Christopher Hunter during today’s launch.
Hunter further noted that the new Macan is now present for viewing and test drives across all Porsche Centres in Malaysia – Ara Damansara, Sungai Besi, Penang and Johor Bahru.

Underpinning Porsche’s new 800-volt Premium Platform Electric (PPE) base, the electric Macan sees four variants available – base Macan, mid-spec Macan 4 and Macan 4S, followed by a range-topping Macan Turbo guise. All are fully imported (CBU) from Leipzig, Germany.
We’ve detailed all four variants through past reports like this and this. Nevertheless, it’s perhaps worth refreshing your memory that all share the same 100 kWh (95 kWh useable) NMC-type battery pack that accepts both 11 kW AC and up to 270 kW DC charging inputs, the latter enabling 10-80% charges in 21 minutes.
Separating each guise are their drive motor setups, performance, and availability of selected kit and features.

All variants share the same 100 kWh (95 kWh useable) NMC-type battery pack that accepts 11 kW AC and up to 270 kW DC charging inputs.
Starting with the base Macan, it packs a single rear e-motor driving its rear wheels with 355 HP and 563 NM. In ‘Overboost’ mode, 0-100 KM/H sprints take just 5.7 secs whereas V-Max stands at 220 KM/H. This variant also boasts the longest claimed WLTP range in the line-up at 641 KM.
The Macan 4 and Macan 4S duo ups the ante with their dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) setups outputting 382 HP and 650 NM (Macan 4) and 442 HP and 820 NM (Macan 4S). With ‘Overboost’, peak power briefly rises to 402 HP and 510 HP respectively to enable century sprints in just 5.2 secs and 4.1 secs respectively plus a higher 240 KM/H V-Max for the Macan 4S too.

Mid-specced Macan 4 pictured. This guise boasts a dual-motor, AWD setup rated at 402 HP and 650 NM that's capable of despatching 0-100 KM/H sprints in just 5.2 secs and travel for up to 624 KM (WLTP).
Naturally, added power and speed comes at the cost of range, and the claimed WLTP-rated figures touted here reads at 613 KM (Macan 4) and 606 KM (Macan 4S).
Additionally, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with electronic damping control, and adaptive air suspension all come as standard equipment whilst rear-axle steering is offered as a cost-option instead.

Range-topping Macan Turbo boasts 576 HP and ,1,130 NM outputs to enable 0-100 KM/H in just 3.3 secs. This variant's chassis also gets rear-wheel steering primed as standard.
Capping things off is the Macan Turbo range-topper. Its dual-motor, AWD setup rated at 576 HP (630 HP with ‘Overboost’) and whopping 1,130 NM make it the most powerful and quickest guise in this line-up – it desptaches 0-100 KM/H sprints in 3.3 secs and 260 KM/H V-Max.
As for range, Porsche touts a WLTP-rated figure of 591 KM for this guise. Furthermore, the Macan Turbo also gains a rear-wheel steering module as standard equipment on top of PASM with electronic damping control, PVT Plus, and adaptive air suspension.

On board, all variants pack Porsche's newest 12.6-inch digital instrument panel and 10.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. Typically, the list of upgrades, as well as colour scheme and material choices, are extensive.
On board, all variants pack Porsche’s newest 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster and 10.9-inch infotainment touchscreen module. Typical of Porsche, the list of optional extra and upgrades for the cabin are rather extensive.
Highlights of the latter include an augmented reality (AR) head-up display (HUD) module, cabin ambient lighting, Burmester surround audio suite, not forgetting a myriad of colour schemes and material choice combinations.
As for the infotainment system itself, it’s based on Android Automotive OS and offers the "Hey Porsche" voice assistant function, amongst many other connected features. As for practicality, this is covered by 540-litre standard boot that’s expandable to 1,348 litres, plus an 84-litre frunk.

Standard 540-litre boot is expandable up to 1,348 litres, and it's complemented further by an 84-litre frunk.

Base prices for the new Macan range between RM430,000 and RM635,000 sans options, insurance and registration costs. Included though is a 2-year warranty and maintenance package plus an 8-year EV battery warranty.
Moving on to price, the base Macan kicks things off from RM430,000 onwards, followed by the Macan 4 and Macan 4S priced from RM445,000 and RM525,000 onwards respectively. The Macan Turbo caps things off with its RM635,000 starting price.
All prices exclude insurance and registration costs, but does include a 2-year warranty and maintenance package, as well as an 8-year/160,000KM EV battery warranty.
