Chery Exeed Exlantix ET EREV AWD Unveiled in China – 1,500 KM Range

Chery’s Exeed has launched the EREV AWD version of its Exlantix ET SUV, featuring up to 1,500 KM of combined range.
The Chinese domestic market is no stranger to range-extender EVs (EREVs), as such technology often features alongside its more conventional battery EV (BEV) counterpart. And that’s exactly what Chery’s luxury sub-brand Exeed did, as it ushered in the EREV version of its Exlantix ET SUV.

Visually, the Exlantix ET EREV looks painstakingly similar to its BEV counterpart, featuring a sleek, elongated SUV bodystyle with tons of rounded edges and EV-specific design touches like the flushed door handles and a grill-less front face. Measuring 4,955 MM long, 1,975 MM wide, 1,698 MM tall, and a wheelbase of 3,000 MM, the Exlantix ET EREV is quite a big SUV, making it larger than its petrol-powered sibling, the Exeed RX (also known as the Omoda C9 in our market).

Thanks to its sizable footprint, the Exlantix ET EREV gets a pretty spacious cabin laced with tons of modern amenities. Key highlights include the large 15.6-inch Exeed OS infotainment display powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P chip, a smaller 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ventilated, heated, and massage-ready front seats, an expansive panoramic sunroof, a 23-speaker premium audio system, and many more.

What truly sets the Exlantix ET EREV apart from its BEV twin is the range-extender all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrain setup it underpins, cordially known as Snow Leopard 4WD. It comprises a 1.5-litre 4-cyl turbocharged petrol engine rated at 154 HP and 220 NM that acts as a range-extender to its battery-motor setup. Speaking of which, the dual-motor setup uses a 201 HP and 310 NM-rated e-motor at the front, and the rear one is rated higher at 261 HP and 324 NM, allowing this sizable SUV to accelerate from 0-100 KM/H in just 4.8 seconds, en route to its 195 KM/H V-Max.
Juicing the motors is a 41.16-kWh battery pack supplied by Gotion High-Tech, offering up to 1,500 KM of combined range and a decent EV-only range of 240 km—both based on the more lenient CLTC standards. Charging-wise, Exeed claims a 20-80% charge can be completed in about 17.5 minutes for the Exlantix ET EREV, courtesy of Chery’s 400-volt E0X EV platform it underpins.
Not to forget, the Exlantix ET EREV is also the first model to feature Chery’s new Falcon Smart Driving system, which utilises 30 sensors and two NVIDIA Orin-X chips, providing high-speed navigation, city navigation, and smart parking functions to the SUV.

The all-new Exeed Exlantix ET EREV AWD is available in three different trims in its native Chinese market, with prices ranging from CNY 239,800 (RM146,437) to CNY 289,800 (RM176,970). As of now, the new Exlantix ET EREV is a Chinese domestic market exclusive, as EREVs haven’t caught much attention abroad as much as their BEV counterparts.
