Launched: Isuzu D-Max Low-Ride 4x2 MT – From RM92,199.20

Isuzu Malaysia CEO Shunsuke Okazoe (left) present the new Isuzu D-Max Low-Ride 4x2 MT.
Isuzu Malaysia officially launched the latest addition to its evergreen D-Max pick-up truck range today, which comes in the form of the Isuzu D-Max Low-Ride 4x2 MT. The firm had initially opened the order books for this variant last month, and deliveries are slated to begin this month.
In Peninsular Malaysia, the new Isuzu D-max Low-Ride 4x2 MT is priced at RM92,199.20 sans insurance (individual private purchase).

Note: Individual Private purchase prices excluding insurance cost listed above.
As a refresher, Isuzu Malaysia positions this new Low-Ride 4x2 MT variant as an “inflation-beating” and “hard-working” truck. In other words, this D-Max variant is built as a low-cost, easy-loading and space-efficient operational tool aimed as workhorse for urban and sub-urban businesses.
Mechanically, this variant is similar to the existing D-Max 1.9-litre Single Cab variant. Unchanged though is its powertrain, which sees Isuzu’s tried and tested 1.9-litre 4-cyl turbo-diesel lump and 6-speed manual transmission pairing. Outputting 148 HP and 350 NM, this powertrain recently proved it can cover over 2,000 KM on a single tank too.

Isuzu Malaysia says the loading deck, which sits some 78 CM off the ground, is 5% lower versus high-riding variants. In turn, this grants easier access for loading and unloading.
Aptly, the key to this new Low-Ride 4x2 MT variant’s appeal stems from its easily accessible loading deck that sits just 78 CM off the ground. Isuzu Malaysia says this is 5% lower than the high-ride variant, allowing for easier loading and unloading. It also boasts a payload capacity of up to 930 KG.
Despite its blue-collar intent and usage, the new D-Max Low-Ride 4x2 MT doesn’t trade off any of the stylish touches seen its higher-riding stablemates. For instance, you won’t find any unpainted black bumpers or steelies here –typical cost-saving touches applied in low-cost workhorse trucks as such (i.e. latest-gen Mitsubishi Triton Single-Cab).

Despite its nature as a workhorse, the D-Max Low-Ride 4x2 MT doesn't trade off style and creature comforts for which. This is evident visually with its body-coloured front bumper, as well as its 16-inch alloy wheels.
Instead, this variant of the D-Max rocks a body-coloured painted front bumper, halogen headlamps with added ‘follow-me-home’ function, dual-function LED DRLs and foglamps, and it also rolls on stylish 16-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 215/70R16-profile tyres.
As for kit, the list includes power-adjustable side mirrors, power-windows for all four doors, speed-activated central-locking with an override button, fabric seat upholstery, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, single-DIN audio head unit with a USB input, a 12-volt socket to power accessories, and a neat 3.5-inch digital multi-info display panel primed in the instrument dials.

Similar to its list of creature comforts, Isuzu Malaysia also didn't skimp on standard safety features primed in the D-Max Low-Ride 4x2 MT, making it one of the safest workhorse trucks in the market today.
Notably, this variant of the D-Max doesn’t skimp on safety either. This is evident through the presence of ABS with EBD and BA braking suites, stability (ESC) and traction control (TCS) systems, as well as both Hill Start Assist (HAS) and Hill Descent Control (HDC) functions, and all come as standard equipment in this workhorse.
Last but not least, in terms of after-sales, the Isuzu D-Max Low-Ride 4x2 MT comes with a 5-year or 150,000 KM warranty coverage included in its sale price. We’ll also remind you that this can be enhanced via the Isuzu Insurance Pro programme that’s available as a cost-option.
