BYD Cars Malaysia announced the availability of the 2025 BYD Atto 3 Ultra today, and the biggest news here is the significantly lowered price tag of RM123,800.

BYD Cars Malaysia announced earlier today that it now offers its popular and best-selling BYD Atto 3 EV crossover in its latest 2025 model year (2025MY) guise – it’s been christened as the 2025 BYD Atto 3 Ultra.

If you’re expecting mild styling tweaks with revised specifications, sadly that hasn’t happened yet for our market. Instead, the newly-named 2025MY ‘Ultra’ guise of the Atto 3 arrives with a lowered price tag of RM123,800 – it’s now a whopping RM44,000 less than its initial 2022 launch price.

The 2025 BYD Atto 3 continues to see three main paintjob options available.

The new price puts the new Atto 3 Ultra on par with the rivalling Proton e.MAS 7, which also starts at the same price for its Premium guise. The same new figure also puts the 2025 BYD Atto 3 Ultra to be more affordable than the BYD Dolphin EV hatch that’s priced negligibly higher from RM124,900.

Take note, the RM123,800 figure stated is nett pricing – it does NOT include registration and insurance costs. Instead, what is included are a six-year or 150,000 KM base vehicle warranty, an eight-year or 160,000 KM EV battery warranty, and an eight-year or 150,000 KM EV drive unit warranty.

Typical of BYD Cars Malaysia, the firm is offering additional perks and benefits for fast-acting early birds - namely the first 1,000 customers.

Typical of BYD Cars Malaysia, there’s also additional benefits for fast-acting early birds – namely the first 1,000 customers. These buyers benefit with firstly a rebate of RM5,000, which lowers the purchase price further to RM118,800.

Next, these early birds also benefit with an eight-year free service package worth RM4,888. Additionally, these buyers also gain a complimentary AC wallbox home charger unit worth RM3,699, vehicle-to-load (V2L) adaptor worth RM988, and a  Type 2 charging cable worth RM1,796.

Visually, there are no changes to note in this 2025MY model - it remains largely unchaged from the last version launched in 2024.

New price and early bird perks aside, the 2025 BYD Atto 3 Ultra remains unchanged in terms of specification from the previous version launched by the firm last year. As a refresher, this EV crossover packs a 60.48 kWh ‘Blade’ LFP battery pack that promises up to 420 KM (WLTP) range.

Said pack is juices a front e-motor driving the front wheels with 204 PS and 310 NM to enable 0-100 KM/H sprints in just 7.3 secs. As for charging, AC inputs remain capped at 7 KW, whereas DC inputs are capped at 88 kW, the latter enabling 10-80% re-charges in just about 40 minutes.

There are no changes to report on board too - much of the 2024MY model's amenities and kit are retained in this 2025MY 'Ultra' version launched today.

Standard kit and features also remain unchanged, and it includes highlights such as 18-inch alloy wheels, updated all-black cabin colourway, ventilated front seats, NFC key card, automatic climate control, adaptive LED headlights, panoramic glass roof, as well as a rotating infotainment display.

As for safety, the 2025 BYD Atto 3 Ultra continues to offer respectably high degree of semi-autonomous driving abilities thanks to its arsenal or advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) package primed.

So, what will it be then folks? This segment-defining ‘default’ choice that’s now re-priced to sell? Or would you still bet on Proton’s redux of the Geely Galaxy EX5? Share your take in the comments below, and our social media pages…
