We've arguably saved the best for last - say hello to the new 2025 VW Golf GTI Black Edition!

We’ve arguably saved the best for last when it comes to the trio of special edition models launched by Volkswagen Passenger Car Malaysia (VPCM) ahead of this week’s Malaysia Autoshow 2025 (MAS 2025).

Capping said trio off is the new 2025 VW Golf GTI Black Edition pictured. Aptly, this is the German marque’s signature eight-gen hot hatch model that’s taken on a darker attitude and stance. It also follows up from the previous Edition 50 special offered prior.

The Golf GTI Black edition is easily set apart thanks to its blacked-out 18-inch Richmond turbine-style wheels, GTI-branded tyre valve caps, and unique self-righting GTI-branded centre caps.

As seen in the 2025 VW Tiguan Allspace Wolfsburg Edition and 2025 VW Arteon Wolfsburg Edition special announced alongside, this dark-flavoured special guise of the Golf GTI hot hatch also comes with a slew of exclusive styling touches and additions.

Visually, the Black Edition is easily set apart from the regular Golf GTI thanks to its adoption of blacked-out 18-inch Richmond turbine-style alloy wheels. Primed here too are a set of unique self-righting GTI centre caps, plus GTI-branded tyre valve caps. Additionally, two paintjob options are available too – Kings Red and Deep Black.

Also exclusive to the Black Edition too are 'Black' B-pillar script badges, as well as a 'JPJ-compliant dark window tint' set.

All Golf GTI Black Edition units even gain a special set of velcro cargo dividers in the boot, followed by special 'Black Edition'-branded floor mats.

Next comes a set of ‘Black’ B-pillar script badges, followed by what VPCM describes as ‘JPJ-compliant dark window tint’ set. Primed here too is the Volkswagen Universal Traffic Recorder 2.0 (UTR 2.0) high-end dashcams set powered by the Sony Starvis night-vision sensor promising crisp images and video capture.

Elsewhere, the Black Edition treatment sees the Golf GTI gaining practical cargo dividers that attach to the boot floor using Velcro. Additionally. Buyers also receive an exclusive Black Edition owner’s box containing special-branded floor mats, certificate of authenticity, as well as a certificate of authenticity.

Another exclusive addition are the VW UTR 2.0 front and rear dashcams set. These are powered by the Sony Starvis night-vision sensors, promising crisp imaging and video-capture abilities.

As for price, the 2025 VW Golf GTI Black Edition detailed starts from RM247,512 sans the Volkswagen Assurance Package (VAP). Said figure raises to RM260,002 on-the-road excluding insurance but with VAP added in. Moreover, there’s a special ‘introductory savings’ offer of RM15,000 brings the starting price down to just RM245,012 (with VAP).

Take note, like what we saw in the other special editions mentioned, the VAP for the 2025 VW Golf GTI Black Edition also boasts a beefed up 7-years or 105,000 KM service package. Unchanged here are the standard VAP’s 5-year, unlimited mileage warranty and roadside assistance coverages.

A special introductory discount sees the 2025 VW Golf GTI Black Edition, available in either Kings Red or Deep Black exterior paint options, priced from as low as RM245,012 (with VAP).
