JAC T9 EV Pick-Up Truck Enters Malaysia Book of Records
Evolvelectric Motors Sdn Bhd CEO Lau Yit Mun (left) receiving the award and recognition certificate from the Malaysia Book of Records earned by the JAC T9 EV pick-up truck.

Remember the all-electric JAC T9 4x4 pick-up truck that was launched locally earlier this year? Well, said EV has now earned itself a rather unique entry and place in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR).
Said accolade was revealed earlier today via press release by brand distributors Evolvelectric Motors Sdn Bhd. Specifically, the JAC T9 EV was officially recognised by MBR as the “pioneer in Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) 4x4 pick-up truck in Malaysia.”
The JAC T9 EV earned a unique spot in MBR where it was named the "pioneer in battery electric vehicle (BEV) 4x4 pick-up truck in Malaysia."

Clearly, this award and recognition is driven by the fact that the JAC T9 EV stood as the first BEV pick-up offering made available to private buyers locally. In turn, this marks a stark difference from the Maxus T90 EV and DFSK EC31 EV models that arrived prior as both are marketed as commercial vehicles – not private passenger vehicles.
“This recognition and award by the Malaysia Book of Records affirms our leadership in driving innovation in the pickup market,” remarked Lau Yit Mun, CEO of Evolvelectric Motors. The exec then continued by noting how the JAC T9 EV “sets a new standard for what electric pick-ups can deliver in Malaysia.”
Launched back in March this year, the JAC T9 EV stands as the first fully electric 4x4 pick-up truck made available to private buyers in Malaysia.

As a refresher, the JAC T9 EV packs an 88 kWh LFP battery pack to juice its dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) setup boasting a combined 308 HP and 516 NM. As a result, 0-100 KM/H sprints take roughly 8.4 secs, whilst V-Max is capped at 140 KM/H.
As for range, JAC Motor touts a maximum WLTP-rated 340 KM figure with each full charge. Speaking of, the battery pack mentioned accepts both 11 kW AC and up to 88 kW DC charging inputs, the latter promising 15-80% re-charge cycles in just about 45 minutes.

The JAC T9 EV commands RM199,888, and said price includes a 6-year or 200,000 KM EV battery warranty.

On board, the JAC T9 EV does see its cabin come laden with a slew of premium and car-like convenience amenities. Highlights include digital displays, USB-C charging ports, 50-watt wireless charging pad, as well as a 64-colour ambient lighting suite.
As for price, the JAC T9 EV commands a retail price tag of RM199,888. Included in said figure is a 6-year or 200,000 KM EV battery warranty. More details are available in our launch report, which you can read up on by clicking here.
