Sime Motors Launches Zero Waste Tyre Recycling Programme

Sime Motors partners up with Evergreen Corporate to launch its zero-waste tyre recycling programme.
Sime Motors has announced a partnership with local recycling firm Evergreen Corporate to launch its own zero-waste tyre recycling programme. This green initiative will be rolled out across all Sime Motors dealerships in Peninsular Malaysia from July 1, 2025, onwards, aimed at reducing the environmental impact of end-of-life tyres through a fully closed-loop zero-waste recycling process.
Through this new programme, used tyres collected from Sime Motors’ dealers and service centres at brands such as BMW, MINI, Hyundai, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo, BYD, Denza, Drivecare, and Auto Selection will be sent to Evergreen Corporate’s processing facilities.
Here, the used tyres will be processed using “advanced thermal recovery green technology” that enables “100% material recovery with low harmful emissions”, turning waste into reusable materials such as carbon black, fuel oil, and recovered steel. According to Sime Motors’ official statement, Evergreen Corporate has been accredited with the ESG Gold rating by MARC (Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad), thus making it one of the key players in sustainable waste management.

On a broader scale, this partnership between Sime Motors and Evergreen Corporate aligns with the Department of Environment (DOE) standards while at the same time supporting the broader national ESG and sustainability objectives, the official statement continues.
“We are constantly working to innovate and advance tyre recycling technology, and we are honoured to partner with Sime Motors to drive Malaysia’s green economy forward,” said Kwang Meng Kian, co-founder of Evergreen Corporate.
“This collaboration not only addresses the challenge of tyre disposal but does so using a solution that is clean, scalable, and future-ready,” added Kwang.
With this programme, Sime Motors hopes that it will provide customers with more confidence to service or purchase their vehicles from the group, as they will know that their used tyres will be handled through a system designed to minimise harm to the environment.
