MG Cyberster EV Roadster Set To Enter 2025 Merdeka Day Parade
Proving to be a local hit, the MG Cyberster is set to steal the limelight once again as it enters the upcoming Merdeka Day Parade in Putrajaya.

With Malaysia being one of its key markets in the region, it’s no surprise then to learn that the MG Cyberster all-electric roadster is set to make a special appearance at this year’s Merdeka Day Parade held in Putrajaya.
Earlier today, brand principals MG Motor Malaysia (SAIC Motor Malaysia) announced officially that will join this year’s Merdeka Day Parade. Certainly, the sharply-styled, open-top and scissor-doored two-seat drop-top will be a sight to behold for parade attendees.
More specifically, the Cyberster will join the special contingent of EVs from MITI in this year's Merdeka Day Parade where it will stand as the sole 'roadster' in the pack.

More specifically, the firm is joining the special contingent electric vehicles (EVs) led by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI). The firm adds the Cyberster will also don a special MITI decal to join this parade contingent.
MG Motor Malaysia touts the Cyberster will stand as the sole EV roadster here, adding that their participation reflects both a proud moment for the firm and its support towards Malaysia’s ambition to accelerate EV adoption.

Since its initial launch back in Dec last year during KLIMS 2024, MG Motor Malaysia have received over 90 orders for the sharply-styled open-top two-seat sportscar offering.
“The MG Cyberster is an icon of innovation and progress, and we are honoured to showcase it alongside other EV brands in celebration of the nation’s 68th Independence Day,” said Emory QiFeng, Managing Director of MG Motor Malaysia.
As a refresher, MG Motor Malaysia revealed earlier this month that it has garnered over 90 orders for the Cyberster locally, with a handful of which already delivered to eager owners too.
More recently, MG Motor Malaysia also expanded the range with a more 'accessible' single-motor RWD variant priced at RM299,900.

Ahead of which, MG Motor Malaysia also expanded the nameplate’s range by adding a new and more accessible single-motor RWD variant back in July. This RWD variant puts out 340 PS and 475 NM to enable 0-100 KM/H sprints in a respectably rapid 5 secs.
Critically, the RWD variant noted also boasts longer 508 KM (WLTP) range with each full charge of its 77 kWh battery pack, whilst AC and DC charging speeds stand at 7 kW and 150 kW respectively. This variant also commands a more accessible RM299,900 price tag.

On board, the MG Cyberster boasts a cabin that's equally high tech as it is luxurious.

For reference, the Cyberster was launched initially in dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) guise during KLIMS 2024 priced at RM319,900. Boasting 544 PS and 725 NM, 0-100 KM/H dashes take 3.2 secs, whilst claimed max range stands at 446 KM (WLTP) instead.
Additionally, both prices stated includes a 7-year or 150,000 KM base vehicle warranty, followed by a separate 8-year or 180,000 KM EV battery warranty, as well as an 8-year or 160,000 KM drive motor and motor control unit warranty.
