Tesla has pulled the wraps off the new Model Y Performance, giving Europe and the Middle East the first taste of its flagship EV SUV. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in Sept 2025, with specifications already confirmed on Tesla’s UK and German sites.

Sitting at the top of the Model Y range, the Performance variant introduces Tesla’s latest 460 HP Performance 4DU drive units, a reworked drivetrain and a refreshed exterior. Both UK and German sites list a 580 KM WLTP range, a 250 KM/H top speed, and 0-100 KM/H sprints in 3.5 seconds.

The exterior has been sharpened with a new front facia, revised rear diffuser and a carbon spoiler that improves downforce while cutting drag. Ride and handling are further enhanced by adaptive suspension and new drive modes, which adjust damping to suit road conditions and provide more freedom at higher speeds.
The SUV rides on 21 inch Arachnid 2.0 staggered wheels, with larger red calipers boosting braking performance.

Inside, the Model Y Performance gains a 16 inch QHD infotainment display paired with a 15 speaker audio system, now including a centre console speaker and extra top mounted units for a fuller soundstage. The new performance seats offer tighter bolstering, thigh extension, heating and ventilation, while carbon fibre trim completes the sportier cabin ambience.

Charging details remain unconfirmed, though the car is expected to match the Model Y AWD Extended Range with 11 KW AC and up to 250 KW DC fast charging. One feature still uncertain is whether Tesla’s Track Mode V3, recently introduced on the updated Model 3 Performance, will also appear here.

In the UK, the Model Y Performance is priced from £61,990 (RM370,000), a £10,000 (RM60,000) or 19% premium over the Model Y AWD Long Range, which starts at £51,990 (RM310,000).
In Malaysia, the Long Range is currently priced at RM242,450, among the lowest globally. This suggests that should the Performance variant arrive, it could be tagged around the RM290,000 to RM300,000 range.
