Launched: 2025 Mazda CX-60 – 1 CBU Variant, From RM199,000

Both the Mazda CX-60 and its larger three-row CX-80 twin were launched side-by-side earlier today by Bermaz Motor (BAuto).

As expected, local Mazda brand importers and distributors Bermaz Motor (BAuto) expanded its local line-up with two brand new and more upmarket offerings – the CX-60 and CX-80. For this report, we’ll focus on the former first.
As noted prior, both the new CX-60 and CX-80 underpins the new Mazda Large Products Technology base featuring larger, peppier rear-wheel-drive (RWD) powertrains matched with increased vehicle size, as well as higher levels of both luxury and tech.

For Malaysia BAuto have launched the Mazda CX-60 in 2.5 2WD High grade, and it commands RM199,000 nett.

Altogether, this sees the Hiroshima brand break into the premium SUVs market segment. Specifically, with the CX-60 model, launched today in 2.5 2WD High grade, it goes up against the likes of the Mercedes-Benz GLC, BMW X3, as well as the Audi Q5.
This, and fully imported (CBU) status, perhaps explains the high price tag that the CX-60 commands. At RM199,000 nett sans on-road costs and insurance, it sits well above Mazda brand staple crossover SUVs like the CX-5, CX-8 and perhaps CX-9 too.
Besides Bermaz’s signature 5-year or 100,000 KM warranty coverage plus 5-year or 100,000 KM free maintenance package, there’s perhaps the upmarket style and matching substance in the CX-60 to justify the premium pricing mentioned.
Powering the CX-60 is a 2.5-litre naturally aspirated 4-cyl VVT petrol mill, and it's paired with an 8-speed automatic plus RWD.

We’ll start with the powertrain and, for the Malaysia market, the CX-60 gets Mazda’s 2.5-litre naturally aspirated 4-cyl VVT petrol mill. Rated at 189 HP and 261 NM, managing both is a new 8-speed automatic transmission plus RWD setup.
As for footprint, the CX-60 is pretty ‘grand’ to say the least. It sits 4,740 MM long with a 2,870 MM wheelbase, 1,890 MM wide and 1,680 MM tall. As for kerb weight, it reads at 1,770 KG.
With the exterior, Mazda’s dynamically elegant ‘Kodo Design’ philosophy has been given a slightly different – read: grander and more upmarket – redux in the CX-60. Notable touches include distinct new grille, LED head- and taillights, and 20-inch rolling stock.

In terms of design, Mazda's signature 'Kodo Design' gets a grander and more upmarket redux in the CX-80.

Moving to the cabin and the CX-60 also adopts Mazda’s new interior design ethos featuring rich use of plush leather upholstery plus a slew of silver accents and trims. Next comes a barrage of high-tech conveniences and amenities to boot.
Highlights include a 12.3-inch digital instrumentation, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment with voice recognition function plus both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, head-up display (HUD), and a 12-speaker Bose audio suite.
Other notable kit primed include a wireless charger, power-adjustable seats, dual-zone climate control with rear vents, powered tailgate, as well as a glass sunroof, amongst many.

On board, the CX-60 boasts lots of plush leather, shiny silver accents and trims, not forgetting a barrage of high tech amenities.

Speaking of tech, what’s brimmed here too is an array of ADAS functions plus a slew of other notable driver assists. Included in the latter is a neat 360-degree camera system with see-through view – a first for amongst Mazda models.
As for the former, the list includes radar cruise control with stop-go function plus cruising and traffic support, lane-departure warning and keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, front and rear smart brake support, driver attention alert, as well as front and rear cross-traffic alert.
Lastly, the CX-60 sees five exterior colour choices available – Soul Red Crystal, Rhodium White, Jet Black, Platinum Quartz, and Zircon Sand. Bookings are now opened at all authorised dealerships nationwide.
