Launched: SoloEra Solo 2 EV Bike – 140 km NEDC Range, From RM5,599*

The all-new SoloEra Solo 2 electric motorcycle debuts today, featuring up to 140 km of NEDC range, priced from RM5,599*.
Blueshark Malaysia has further expanded its electric motorcycle range by launching the all-new SoloEra Solo 2. This is also the second SoloEra model to debut locally, priced at just RM5,599 for the first 50 customers who pre-order the electric motorcycle, plus a free Blueshark helmet.
That said, the SoloEra Solo 2 will then be priced at RM6,399 once the special early-bird promo ends. Also important to note that all the prices listed above are without the MARiiCas RM2,400 rebate, which Blueshark Malaysia said is now on hiatus until further notice.
On top of the affordable pricing, Blueshark Malaysia is also offering the new Solo 2 with its own Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, which includes a five-year dual battery rental agreement at only RM99 per month plus a connectivity pack at RM10 per month.

Back to the EV bike itself, the Solo 2 is powered by a single electric motor that is good for up to 95 km/h of top speed and a 0-50 km/h acceleration time of 7.2 seconds, the brand claims. Juice is provided by two LFP-type battery packs with a combined output of 4,000 W, capable of delivering a maximum NEDC range of up to 140 km.

Stopping power for this small EV bike is provided by double hydraulic brakes with CBS (combined braking system), featuring a 25-mm front calliper and a larger 27-mm calliper at the rear. With two batteries equipped, the Solo 2 tips the scale at just 132 kg with a maximum payload of 270 kg, thus making it a pretty ideal choice for e-hailing riders and gig workers.

Size-wise, the Solo 2 is on-par with other electric scooters out there, featuring a seat height of only 760 mm and 160 mm of ground clearance. On top of that, the EV bike also rolls on 16-inch front wheels with 100/80/16 tyres and a smaller 14-inch unit at the rear shodded with a wider 110/80/14 tyre. Not to forget, three colourways are available for the Solo 2, namely Stardust Blue, Eclipse Gold, and Orion Grey.

Despite its affordable price, the Solo 2 gets a pretty decent list of amenities, including a 7-inch LCD metre cluster with a mobile app-to-bike wireless connectivity for smart features like vehicle status and telematics. Other key features include a Bluetooth smart key remote entry and locking, a built-in anti-theft system, Find My Vehicle functionality, and many more.

And just like other electric motorcycles by Blueshark Malaysia, the all-new SoloEra Solo 2 will also be locally-assembled at EP Manufacturing Berhad’s (EPMB) production plant in Glenmarie, Shah Alam, alongside its smaller sibling, the SoloEra Solo 1C.
