LLM Activates Traffic Plan Ahead of 47th ASEAN Summit in KL

The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), together with highway concessionaires and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), has activated a comprehensive traffic management plan to ensure smooth traffic flow during the 47th ASEAN Summit, taking place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) from Oct 26 to 28.
In a statement, LLM said the move follows the directive of Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi to ensure the safe and seamless movement of heads of state, government leaders and international delegates attending the high-level event.
The summit will see the arrival of top officials and representatives from across the region and beyond, requiring close coordination among agencies to maintain order and safety. LLM said it is working closely with PDRM, other enforcement bodies and highway concessionaires to execute a detailed traffic management plan throughout the conference period.

All highway traffic systems, including variable message signs (VMS), CCTV cameras and the Traffic Monitoring Centre (TMC), are being kept in peak condition to enable effective real-time monitoring and control.
To facilitate smooth travel between Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and the city centre, all highway maintenance and construction works involving lane closures will be temporarily suspended from Oct 23 to 29, except in emergency situations.

LLM urged motorists, especially those travelling around the Klang Valley and near the KLCC area, to plan their routes early and stay updated on traffic conditions through official channels. You can read about the full list of road closures HERE.
Drivers are reminded to obey directions from police and highway patrols and remain alert to any official announcements on road diversions in the city between Oct 23 and 28.
For further information and live traffic updates, the public can follow LLM and highway concessionaire social media pages or contact the LLM Traffic Monitoring Centre via its toll-free line at 1-800-88-7752.
