-full_normal.jpg)
The new Suzuki Fronx achieved a full 5-star rating in its debut ASEAN NCAP assessment, earning an overall score of 77.70 points under the 2021–2025 testing protocol.
The result marks Suzuki’s strong return to the regional safety program after a six-year gap since the Ertiga’s evaluation in 2019.
Across all key categories, the compact crossover recorded 36.71 points for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 15.27 for Child Occupant Protection (COP), 15.71 for Safety Assist (SA) and 10.00 for Motorcyclist Safety (MS), reaffirming its comprehensive safety credentials under the latest standards.

In crash testing, the Fronx’s occupant cell remained stable during the frontal offset impact, offering adequate protection to both front occupants’ chests and marginal protection to the driver’s right lower leg. The model scored 13.74 points in frontal impact, 7.63 in side impact, and 8.00 for head protection technology, totalling 29.37 points under AOP.
Side impact performance was equally strong, supported by a rigid structure and six standard airbags that include front, side and curtain units. Both front occupants are equipped with seatbelt pre-tensioners and load limiters to enhance restraint effectiveness in collisions.

For child safety, the Fronx achieved 38.94 out of 51 points, comprising 17.94 for dynamic tests, 12.00 for vehicle-based assessments and 9.00 for installation. The evaluation used a range of Britax Römer and Joie child restraint systems, all of which passed installation tests without issue. ISOFIX and top tether anchorages are standard across all variants.
Under Safety Assist, the Fronx earned 16.50 points out of 21, including 6.00 for braking and avoidance, 4.50 for seatbelt reminders, and 3.00 for AEB systems. ASEAN NCAP confirmed that both AEB City and AEB Inter-Urban systems functioned effectively according to the required test standards.

Other available technologies include Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keep Assist (LKA) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW), offered as standard or optional equipment depending on market specification.
The Fronx also comes with a comprehensive safety suite that includes Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), and seatbelt reminders for both front and rear occupants. While features such as AEB and BSD are optional in some ASEAN markets, Suzuki has confirmed that Malaysian-market units will include both Blind Spot Detection (BSD) and Auto High Beam (AHB) as standard.

In the Motorcyclist Safety (MS) domain, the Fronx scored 10.00 points, credited to its effective blind spot detection (BSD) system, pedestrian protection design and headlight performance with Auto High Beam functionality. ASEAN NCAP verified that the BSD technology functioned correctly on both sides of the vehicle.
ASEAN NCAP commended Suzuki for its proactive approach in safety technology integration, describing the model’s performance as “commendable” under the current 2021–2025 assessment cycle.

In Malaysia, Suzuki Cars Malaysia (Naza Eastern Motors) opened order books for the Fronx on Sept 18, with its launch set to take place by the end of this year.
The compact SUV will be imported fully built from Indonesia and offered as a CBU ASEAN model, expected to feature both a 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid (MHEV) powertrain option.
