It’s been more than a year since the Xpeng Mona M03 debuted, and Xpeng has decided to give its affordable EV sedan an update. Thanks to information from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the new Mona M03 will get some minor design and equipment changes while featuring up to 640 km of pure electric range.

As reported by CarNewsChina, the new Mona M03 will be offered with three LFP battery options—all supplied by Eve Energy. The smallest option will be the 51.8 kWh unit, which Xpeng said can provide ranges of 540 km, 510 km, 500 km, 520 km, 490 km, and 485 km, depending on the variant. The second option is a larger 61.6 kWh LFP unit that offers ranges of 610 km, 590 km, 585 km, and 570 km.
Last but not least, the largest option will be the 62.2 kWh, which Xpeng claims can provide ranges of 625 km and 640 km. Mind you, all the ranges listed are based on the more lenient CLTC standards.

As for its powertrain, all versions of the new Mona M03 will get the same single RWD electric motor setup rated at up to 215 hp (160 kW) as the ongoing model, which is good enough for a V-max of 170 km/h for this EV sedan.

In terms of design, we’ve been told that the updated Mona M03 will get some minor design changes while retaining the same fastback four-door sedan bodystyle as the current model. Some changes include the redesigned front and rear bumpers that now feature air vent-like designs, plus a choice between 18- or 19-inch wheels with four design options.
Dimension-wise, the new Mona M03 also grew 5 mm in length over the previous model due to the new bumpers, as it now spans 4,785 mm long, 1,896 mm wide, and 1,445 mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm.

As of now, no details regarding the interior and exact launch date for the new Mona M03 were shared by Xpeng, but given the time these details were unravelled, we can expect this to be a 2026 model year (2026 MY) version of the EV sedan.

That said, this update does reflect the importance of the M03 for Xpeng, as it was previously ranked as the best-selling compact pure electric sedan in the domestic Chinese market, with over 200,000 units delivered since its debut back in Aug 2024.
More importantly, Xpeng boss He Xiaopeng previously confirmed that the Mona M03 will be part of the brand’s global product lineup, with the affordable EV sedan possibly heading for the European market sometime in 2026.
