Mazda CX-6e Unveiled as Europe’s EZ-60 Twin with 483 km of Range

The sleek Mazda EZ-60 makes its debut in Europe under a new name, now simply known as the Mazda CX-6e.
Remember the Mazda EZ-60 unveiled at the Auto Shanghai 2025 motor show last year? It turns out that this sleek EV SUV has just made its European debut at the ongoing Brussels Motor Show 2026, under a whole new name simply known as the Mazda CX-6e.
Following in the footsteps of its sedan counterpart, the Mazda 6e (known in China as the Mazda EZ-6), the new CX-6e is the latest product from the Hiroshima-based automaker’s collaboration with China’s Changan.

From the design itself, you can clearly see why Mazda is brave enough to put the CX-6e alongside other European premium EV SUVs like the new BMW iX3 and the Audi Q6 e-tron, as this EV SUV features a sleek and futuristic design with the brand’s signature ‘Kodo Design’ language being retained.

Apart from the new nameplate on the tailgate, the CX-6e looks identical to its Chinese counterparts, with key exterior highlights including slim LED DRLs, a grill-less front fascia with an illuminated Mazda logo, a sleek coupe-ish side profile with a rakish rear windscreen, digital side-view cameras, slim LED taillights, and more.

Dimension-wise, the new CX-6e is also on par with its European rivals, spanning 4,850 mm long, 1,935 mm wide, and 1,620 mm tall with a healthy wheelbase of 2,902 mm.

On board, it appears that the CX-6e has ditched some of the familiar Mazda interior design cues in favour of a more minimalist, single large-screen setup. The biggest highlight for the cabin is easily the expansive 26-inch screen that stretches across the dash, which is accompanied by a head-up display (HUD) that eliminates the need for a digital metre cluster.

Other key amenities primed here include digital side camera displays on the door cards, plush upholstery for the seats, built-in speakers on the headrests, a two-spoke steering wheel, a floating central console, and a surprisingly modest boot space of 468 litres.

Beneath its premium facade, the new CX-6e is essentially a Changan EV, as it shares the same powertrain setup not only with its Chinese twin but also with the 6e saloon. The EV SUV sourced its power from a 78 kWh LFP battery pack that Mazda claims is good for up to 483 km of WLTP range, which is significantly lower than some of its more efficient rivals out there.
Performance is also quite underwhelming for this sporty-looking EV SUV, with Mazda touting a 0-100 km/h sprint time of only 7.9 seconds from its single RWD motor setup rated at 259 hp (190 kW) and 290 Nm. Charging figures are not that impressive either, with its 195 kW DCFC enabling a 10-80% charge to complete in 24 minutes, while AC charging is capped at only 11 kW.

That being said, it remains to be seen how much Mazda is asking for the new CX-6e in Europe, but buyers would surely expect it to be less than what BMW or Audi are asking for their EV SUVs. The CX-6e is slated to debut sometime later in 2026 in Europe, followed by the UK market by the end of the year.
