Modenas has begun local assembly of Kawasaki models at its facility in Kedah.

For the record, Modenas has already produced 20 units of Kawasaki Ninja 250 ABS and non-ABS models and has begun assembly of the Z250 ABS.

The Ninja 250 has a black body colour with a gold graphic stripe, whereas the Z250 has a dark red body colour. In addition, grey and black body colours will be available.

Roslan Roskan, CEO of Modenas, also unveiled Kawasaki's product line for the local market.

"We will launch four CKD models and three CBU models this year." "All of these models will be available by the end of this year," he said during a press conference.

The four CKD models that will be introduced this year are as follows:

. Ninja 250 ABS/non ABS

. Z250 ABS

. Vulcan S650

While the CBU models that will be launched this year are:

. Ninja 1000 SX

. ZX-10R

. Versys 1000 SE

. Z900RS

Furthermore, the Versys 650 and Versys X-250 CKD models will be introduced next year. Meanwhile, the ZX-6R and Versys 1000 CBU models will be available in Malaysia in 2023.

Modenas Chief Marketing Officer, Kashiwagi Yusaku, chose all CBU models for the Malaysian market after surveying the Malaysian situation and the tastes of local riders.

"Many Malaysian customers enjoy riding long distances." As a result, the Ninja 1000 and Versys 1000 are ideal for this market.

"In addition, Malaysia has an international circuit in Sepang, and I have attended the Cub Prix race." Many Malaysian customers are interested in the supersport segment, according to my observations. "So I went with the ZX-10R and ZX-6R," he explained.
