No Driving Licence Can Be Bought Without Taking Tests - JPJ

The Road Transport Department (JPJ), through a press release, has issued warning to Malaysians from falling for fraudulent advertisements online that claim to be able to renew and issue licences without taking a proper JPJ test.

In these fraudulent advertisements, irresponsible individuals are claiming that they could issue valid licences without requiring candidates to take the official JPJ test. The licences were said to be 100% original and would be documented in the official JPJ system.

“We can help you get your licence without taking a single test and can be renewed within 3 days,” wrote the advertisement. JPJ has urged the public to steer away from these claims and to not fall victim to these scams.

"We take this issue seriously, and further investigations are being carried out," JPJ stated. "This includes sending a report to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (SKMM) and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM)."

Local Bahsa daily Utusan reported that JPJ had previously detected the same advertisement being promoted through the Telegram chat application offering these licences - also known as 'lesen terbang' - at prices that range between RM350 and RM1,900.

Golden rule of any scam: If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is..
