Toyota Motors and its subsidiary KINTO just announced that any Toyota GR Yaris purchased thru Toyota's dealer network would be eligible to be added into the KINTO Factory service line-up which would finally give the buyers various additional options in spec-up their rides while retain the factory backed warranty.

Before this the KINTO offerings were kept exclusively for the special GR Yaris Morizo Selection. However with this new option made available GR Yaris buyers would now be able to opt for the torque-boosting "GR YARIS PERFORMANCE SOFTWARE 2.0" upgrade which will see their vehicles original maximum torque of 360NM at 3000-4200RPM increased to 390NM at a shorter 3200-4000RPM range. Furthermore, buyers who opt-in to this service will be walked thru a whole range of personalized software settings to achieve their desired performance output. To add-on, the current practise of tailored performance via software personalization based on vehicle data collected would still be retained as a option, with a secondary option of performance software personalization thru consultation as any GR Garage outlets added-on. Do take note that this is so far a Japan only option but we do hope its success would see this module being replicated in other regions.

The ultimate aim of this practise is for Toyota and KINTO to cater to the ever-evolving consumer market which has always been strong in the customization front, hence by having this option they would be able to be a part of the customers vehicle ownership journey beyond the initial delivery and maintenance stage. Toyota and KINTO would be working together to offer their customers more such offerings in times to come and also equip the customers with knowledge and technology that the company gains throughout its motorsport’s participations.

Now we do hope this business module would be adopted and brought to greater heights by all vehicle manufacturers not only Toyota as this will not only benefit in the technological transfer front, but also engage their clients better and provide a greater sense of belonging to the brand.
