AION Hyper GT Debuts At Guangzhou Auto Show Boasting A Cd Of Only 0.19

At the 2022 Guangzhou Auto Show, AION debuts its first-ever Hyper GT, which is a brand-new design idea based on "Teardrop On The Blade" design language due to go on sale in China this coming 2023.

"With the development of the times, the design is also evolving. We start thinking from the relationship between man and nature, reshape the harmonious symbiosis relationship between man and machine, and propose the design concept of AION—the aesthetics of man-machine symbiosis." said Fan Zhang, VP of Design, GAC R&D.

The Hyper GT with its distinctive proportions features a longer wheelbase, lower front and rear overhangs and larger wheels measuring 19” in diameter thanks to an all new dedicated AEP 3.0 EV underpinning. With this Hyper GT has managed to achieve an impressive coefficient of drag (Cd) of only 0.19 which indirectly makes it the world's lowest wind resistance mass production automobile.

To add on further, the Hyper GT would also be the world's first car with a fully enclosed front fascia and an automated Wind Blade Grille that opens up at certain speeds to aid drag and wind resistance. At speeds in excess of 80 km/h, the concealed spoiler would rise up to efficiently lead airflow and generate downforce which helps the Hyper GT’s corner handling and steering performance.

Now for the party piece, this 4-door sedan's front doors would feature what AION terms as the “Sky Doors” use dihedral synchro-helix actuation technology, making entering and exiting an experience by itself. The Hyper GT would also come standard with unique electrode headlights which would appear to be pulse current bursting instantly under a high voltage and red crystal tail lights made up of actual crystal modules.

Tech wise, the AION Hyper GT will come fully loaded with every driving aid imaginable consisting of cameras, radars, LiDAR and sensors which are neatly integrated into the body design. As for the drivetrain, only the single-motor version with 335HP and 434 Nm torque capable of 483 KM range was announced with a dual-motor version coming soon.

Fan Zhang also commented that the "AION Hyper GT is a super electric sedan with a perfect combination of technology, modern design, value, and sportiness, a perfect model for the high-end AION brand”.
