The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China recently released some images of the upcoming Chery Tiggo 8 Pro DP-i which would seemingly be sold alongside the Tiggo 8 and Tiggo 8 Plus in China. The Tiggo 8 Pro DP-i would be targeted to the younger market segment with its sportier outlook.

In differentiating itself from the run of the mill Tiggo 8 line-up, the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro DP-i would feature a completely different front grill to chrome and blue decorative stripes to portray its electrification as this is a PHEV. The front grill would also feature seamless integrated LED headlights which are longer and slimmer then the standard Tiggo 8 hence giving it a near complete different fascia.

The Chery Tiggo 8 Pro DP-i would be powered by a 1.5T engine mated with the Chery Plug-in Hybrid system pushing 154HP. The Chery Tiggo 8 Pro DP-i electric motor would be powered by a ternary lithium battery pack and has a top speed of 180 km/h.

The Tiggo 8 Pro DP-i would measure 4722mm in length, 1860mm wide, 1747mm in height with a wheelbase of 2710mm. This PHEV would weigh a reported 1818 kg. From the outlook we are able to see that the Tiggo 8 Pro DP-i, would feature a standard panoramic sunroof with the rear sporting a well integrated rear spoiler and dual exhaust outlet bumper design.

On the safety front, it is reported from the document MIIT released that the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro DP-i would be equipped with front and rear cameras and necessary standard driver aids radars. It will also be offered in three wheel specification ranging from 17, 18 or 19 inches.

The current variant of Chery Tiggo 8 that is to be sold in Malaysia soon.
