Geely Auto Group has unveiled its latest high-end electrified product series, the Geely Galaxy, at an event in Hangzhou late yesterday. The range includes the long-range PHEV SUV, Galaxy L7, and the fully electric concept model, Galaxy Light. The Galaxy series integrates Geely Auto's global car development capabilities to offer users intelligent and electrified vehicles with a dedicated smart electrified architecture and E-CMA.

The range will have seven new vehicle models in the next two years, including four long-range hybrid electric models such as the Galaxy L7 SUV and L6 sedan, and three pure galaxy E models, with the first Galaxy E8 planned for delivery in Q4 2023. Geely Auto also introduced new advanced electrified technologies, including the Aegis battery safety system, NordThor Hybrid 8848 powertrain, and the latest smart vehicle operating system, Galaxy N-OS.

The Galaxy series will be the first to utilise Geely's Aegis battery safety system, which provides the highest level of user protection throughout the battery unit's lifespan. The system protects against direct impacts during a crash and can predict and preempt thermal runaways. The battery safety system is coupled with the Wise Star Cloud Connected Central Computing System, increasing battery life by 20%.

The Geely Galaxy series also features the latest generation of the NordThor dedicated hybrid engine, NordThor 8848, which has achieved a peak thermal efficiency of 44.26%. The powertrain uses the industry's first predictive energy management system, improving fuel economy by up to 15%. Paired with the NordThor three-speed dedicated hybrid transmission, the hybrid powertrain offers the best combination of performance and fuel economy.

The Galaxy series is equipped with the new Galaxy N-Operating System, developed under Geely Auto's Smart Geely 2025 strategy. The operating system, backed by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8155 vehicle chip, allows for the fastest system startup and response time in its class. With access to Geely Holding Group's network of satellites, the vehicles have high-precision maps and precise positioning for intelligent driving functionality.

The launch of Geely Auto's Galaxy series raises the benchmark in the industry, offering users safer, smarter, and electrified experiences.
